Science Daily reports the work of Swedish researchers who say they have proven conclusively that fossil organic matter is not necessary for the formation of crude oil and natural gas.
This is something that Thomas Gold was saying for years, right up until his death.

Energy Domination is essential to keep the power elite in power . . . and this is something that promises to blow the lid off their scarcity claims.

I can go on until the scarcity of oil is not needed any more. Not the oil is useful for some people, the scarcity is.
It is useful for folks selling oil at high prices, and just as useful for people selling electric cars. And for public transit operators.
The second group is now working on alternatives to the scarcity of oil. Yes, you have guessed correctly - global warming. Very useful for certain groups.

I know it was a short article but it does not explain our oil is form if not by compressed dead matter.
This really is pie in the sky stuff and my opinion is that scietists concerned are deluding themselves as the future is too horrible to complete at present .But lets see if their work is Peer reviewed. It is then Wow but we better hope Made made global warming is a myth cause an endless supply of cheap & accessible oil will no doubt help ratchet up global temperatures.
The idea that electric car makers are some how responsible for the idea of peak oil is i think pure fantasy.

Ok motley, I will say it more directly.
There are groups who favour more control over societies in everyday life. Such groups include, but are not limited to, socialist parties, bureaucrats, and the catholic church.
The Green movement has, to a large extent, chosen socialist approaches to solving problems.
These groups love peak oil, as it gives them another excuse to regulate more, and to tell people how to live their daily lives. Since global warming can serve much the same purpose, they will perhaps not need peak oil as much as in the past.

Where as the powers that be in Capitalist socities let us do what we want and have no intersest in regulating our behaviour. Been to the Uk lately .one thing it is not is socialist or green!
The are many on the left like Alexander Cockburn of Counterpunch who think peak oil is a myth and think the Russian version of how oil is formed is the most credible but like i said i think this is pie in the sky stuff but if some one supplies some credible evidence then i'll change my mind.
As for the Greens Johnathon Porritt of Greenpeace ( or once of ) again doesnot think peak oil is a soon to be reality.Peak oil developed not from political idealogues but from geologists.
We live on a palnet with finite reasouces and very large increasing population and sticking your in the sand and pretending thats not the case as most arec doing is scary.

I have been saying for years, as long as there is water, there is oil. Oil is contaminated water filtered down into the earth bonding other carbon material along the way to an area of high heat and extreme pressure altering the molecular component into black gold fermenting below the earths surface.
We are lied to on a daily basis by scholars and so called experts taught to hide the truth from the unwashed rabble.
Diesel is a multi grade waste by product of cracked oil molecules into gasoline. Diesel used to be cheap till the diesel engine became a lucrative money making device and diesel usage was recognized as an abundant income generator over gas.
Control diesel and you control food supply chain prices.
