For anyone who has not heard the rumours, heres a link to a story that suggests methods are being put in place to cancel the US election for reasons of an attack (or to assist putting in place the global monetary controls which seem to be manifesting)
After the Bush election fiasco, it would not be a surprise.

Or, you might want so simply paste the url on the text of your comment. Not pretty, but effective ;-)

Unconstitutional
Huujuu,
It is unconstitutional to cancel the election. But, if he delated it, Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, would automatically become President at noon on 20th January 2009. Bush can't extend his term in office!
What do you think?

I think W is looking forward to getting out of there, while he still can escape in one piece.

Admit it, you're an Obama supporter, right?
Who? me?
Not at all, I think they are all as much of a muchness. Obama worries me as much as McCain, and i'm in the UK!
I could have posted similar links to new theories on cancelling the election, or postponing it. It just 'feels' like somethings afoot, all this money madness so close to the election, talks of NWO type scenario's over the years(mostly that ive found on occasion linked from here).
In my opinion something very wrong is going on in the US (9/11, war, banking etc, etc, blah and so on). But then i listen to Noam Chomsky and feel like a conspiracy nut, and then........ i still feel like something is going to happen. Maybe i should limit my coffee intake to 1 cup in the morning !
Has anyone seen 'Zeitgeist' http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/
Ive also read on a link from here today about people seeing more conspiracies in times of stress or when they feel out of control but i would like to think that i'm not in that classification (i'd like to think that!) and i dont feel that i'm looking for conspiracies.
If anything the most worrying part is the feeling that 'I know the powers that be have a sinister hidden agenda' and i could be completely wrong.
The powers at be
I admit the martial law scenario has occurred to me too, in he past. But then I think that level of instability would actually harm the interests of most of those powers that be. It is better for them that you and I remain asleep & spending, than awake & thinking.
That said, I agree with the basic idea proposed by Naomi Klein in her book "The Shock Doctrine"; but the core of that thesis depends that the shock is not permanent, otherwise you die of electrocution.

wartime elections
Elections during wartime are not new in the US. They happened during the civil war, WW2, Vietnam, and the current war. Did I leave out others?
The election results are normally affected by this, but the elections take place.
