Few know the meaning of attaining the state of Christos but Jesus did this and is the Son of God for he is the way, the truth and the light to anyone who hopes to gain access to the root of our very being. Christ is the way and it is indeed the state of being that we all must attain for truth. The REASON we must attain is as ancient as timelessness is expansive. We are more than the flesh and blood that carries the Light that we are. We leverage this realm for knowledge and wisdom and that is our reason for being here in Time/Space. If we were knowledgeable enough, we could read the very book of existence to see that there is a pathway that is Gnostically known for us to go back home to the root of our being. We are indeed God's children — rays of his continence issuing forth into this realm of learning. The law of God's Consequence will help us determine the directions we must go in order to be like Christ. Would that humanity could awaken to the Truth once more.

A part of me thinks so. Then again, as Enigmni said earlier, WE are all God's sons & daughters.

There's also the part that Jesus always speaks of himself as the "Son of Man" in the New Testament. I've never quite understood that.

So maybe then, the question should be: Is Jesus the 2nd person of the Holy Trinity?

Like anyone else, Jesus was the son of his mother and father, Mary and Joseph of Nazareth. Jesus grew up to be a carpenter, then a prophet among many prophets of the time. He was glib, insightful, spoke well and drew a large following that approached the size of the popular support for another prophet, John the Baptist.

The Bible is made from two books: a cut down version of a Jewish book now called the Old Testament and the New Testament. The new testament consists of four "gospels" selected from over 200 gospels at the Council of Nicea - all written in Hebrew and greek. My ninth great grandfather was among three selected by King James of England in c1600 to translate these accounts into English. The entire Bible was written by men. Jesus never wrote anything.

Jesus preached rules to live by, good rules, but he was only a man, the son of humans.

Jesus is a cursor to the fabric of existence. There is something very big about being here in Time/Space that is much more than just accidentally becoming a complex entity that is self-knowing and full of the ability to examine himself to the ultimate degree. We are powerful information that assembles itself via the behest of God's laws which broadcast as mind and this mind is held within each and everyone of us. There is a way that we should live that is positive and straight forward. We must read the book of life held in the very symbols of each and everything we observe here. Life is much more complex than the flippant viewpoint of the average Liberal.
