TDG Wallpaper - Atlantis

Today I played around with Photoshop a little, and created a TDG desktop wallpaper for anyone interested, simply titled 'Atlantis'. You can see the thumb here. To download different sizes, here are the links:

If anyone else wants to come up with a submission, let us all know - would be cool to have a few different choices.

Great image and idea for submissions!

One point...for a long time I have been troubled by the letter kerning in you new logo but it wasn't till now I brought this up.

The spaces between the D & A, L & Y and G & A needs to be tightened up - IMHO from my (too) many years in the sign game.

Where do I send submissions and my kerning suggestion?

Don't point out the mistakes. Otherwise people (who aren't designers) see them. I could point out 5 more, but I won't. ;)

You are correct. That's what you get when you have a non-graphic designer make up a logo. I might try and fix it if I can find time...although I made the mistake of flattening the text into one layer, so I'd have to do it all again (or do some fancy snipping).

If you have a wallpaper submission, just send it to me (the name is 'greg', and I'm at dailygrail.com).

Kind regards,
Greg

Nice to see you decided to use the ruins of Tajin in Veracruz instead of egyptian monuments.

Good spotting on that one! I think the New World pyramids are more 'Atlantean' in vibe, don't you agree? Even if it was supposed to be just outside Gibraltar...

The hard part was getting that pyramid moved under the ocean for my photo shoot. The antiquities dept were not happy!

It reminds me also of this ice crystal photo on spaceweather dot com June 7, 2007
HEAVENLY HALO: "It's not just the surface of the sun that's active today," reports Andrew Greenwood of Kerridge, England. The sky around the sun is pretty lively, too:"This has to be the most wonderful ice halo display I have ever seen," says Greenwood. "I couldn't stop taking pictures

I've edited the original story and added a few extra wallpapers - it's the same Atlantis picture (edited slightly for size), but one wallpaper as a panel on a black background, as well as two new widescreen versions.

Kind regards,
Greg
