Robert Anton Wilson once suggested that to get to know ourselves we should answer Who, What, When, Where, and How. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to each of those that are important to me(and I'll share them with you in just a moment), but the question I want to pose to you is Why. To know Who, What, When, Where, and How, one simply needs the appropriate apparatus to observe...eyes and/or ears. What apparatus is needed to observe Why?
As I promised: Who? All of us. What? Are One. When? Always. Where? Planet Earth. How? By being human. We all have an "I". When I look into your eyes I see "I" looking back at me. Namaste, my brothers and sisters, do you understand me? When asked what is the most important of God's commandments, Jesus the Christ answered, "The Lord thy God is One Lord...", but he didn't stop there. He continues saying, "and the second is like namely this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Why? Because we are all One and the same living, breathing, entity connected to each other by the One Lord our God that's Why. Who is this "One Lord our God" you might ask? Krishna tells Arjuna that it is, "He who dwells within all living bodies." Krishna calls He who dwells within all living bodies "the Seer...[who is]not shaken by adversity, not hankering after happiness, free from fear, free from anger, free from the things of desire". Can you all understand that? Do you see that behind all of our human-ness, behind all of our issues, behind all of our percieved differences there is the One Being simply observing? When you say, "I feel tired", who do you think it is that observed you were tired? When you say, "I feel sad", who saw that you were sad? It's Him DAMMIT, it's HIM! It's the One, for crying out loud and He's in ALL OF US, CAN YOU SEE THAT??!!?!?!
Do you understand that we are all One? Can you see that pretty much all of the religions have been preaching this idea for millenia? Do you see that quantum physics is verifying that they have been correct all along?
When we kill each other we are killing ourselves. When we hurt each other we are hurting ourselves. Why are we doing this? Why are we fighting ourselves all across the globe? Why are we killing our SELVES? OURSELVES!! WHY?!?! But just as importantly...Why can't we stop? Am I the only one perplexed by this? Is there anybody else out there that wants to see us evolve into an enlightened society too? Hello? Anybody?!?? I am affraid for us. Why? Just look around.

interesting question
as such that i'm sure we all have asked it from time to time. I think most who have asked and delved deeper into the meaning have long since departed from the one god of the bible belief. Not that there is many gods, but more that the bible god is not the creator. Many religions say that the god is in us. True, but to try and single out an entity and call it god is pretty arrogant.
Personaly I believe we are all living in the living god's body. We are no more then nerve endings for the experience of the creation. But with the oppotunity to move up the scale to become a part of creating as well as being the creation. Our ability to have free choice to fashion our future and reality is the key to advancement spiritualy.
So why indeed? People choose to kill and mame. Why they choose to do this is beyond my understanding.

I am sorry
You are right! I am sorry my friend. I did not mean to imply One Universal Creator God, as I do not believe that Jesus nor Krishna were talking about a physical God as such either. And I am sorry that I come across as arrogant...I only mean the indweller. The personal God. The Higher Self, if you will. Not the Churchianity God who requires constant confirmation, tithes, and requires us to "ask him into our heart". I'm talking about our Zen Master who "makes the grass green". The One. He's the same in all of us. Not just the same TYPE of thing, but the very same entity residing in all of us, watching and listening to all that happens through each and every one us from birth...Atman, Christ...omnipotent, omnisicent, and omnipresent because we ARE his nodes, as you said, beings "living in the living God's body"...His 12 billion eyes...If I hurt my brother, my sister is hurt as well...Why? because we are connected. Not in some esoteric, metaphysical, new age, hard to understand, occult way. But because He resides in all of us, and He is easy to see if we only look to find Him....Your idea of "moving up the scale to become a part of Creation" I like. That is a very Mormon belief by the way(of all the Christians, I like the Mormons the best!).
don't be sorry
I certainly was not sugesting you are arogant. I was sugesting anyone who believes in a one god entity is arogant.
We are as much a part of the creation force as the creation force is a part of us. We single ourselves out and distance ourselves from the light and love for our own selfish reasons. This is ingnorance of the true nature of creation.

Hey Flop, where's the next
Hey Flop, where's the next installment of "The Medium Trilogy?" Speaking of 'Where', you limit yourself (and the rest of us, noospherically speaking), dustincole, by confining our whereabouts to Planet Earth. Think Universal.
good call
Anon, is not the noosphere the sphere of human thought in relation to the evolution of planet Earth? I applaud you for your universal scope of reality, though I am hoping for a more local revolution. A revolution of Human Mind as siblings birthed of our Mother Earth...one in which we come together as Earthly brothers and sisters...shouldn't we start getting along here at home before we venture off in to the great unknown Universe...or even bigger, the Multiverse? Unfortunately, I'm not intelligent enough to know what is the best course of action. I just don't want Earth Humans to go extinct. I'm kind of partial to us, here...
Getting along here
I say that the realization of what we are will come with the eradication of anti-humanity within.
Anti-humanity being all these psycho-psychic tensions that go either against the well being of others or again the well being of self.
Knowing what we are is not just knowing our physical counterpart and trying to tame it but to tame our invisible psycho-psychic counterpart who can only recognize itself in the energy it supports, not knowing that the energy that permeates our mind is not our reality but an experiment.
Until then, we are tamed by both our physical and our invisible counterparts and, since they like it that way, they won't freely give away the great secret of our reality for fear of losing their dominion.
This is how ignorance is born, even ignorance of ourselves, the mother of all ignorance.
Sorry Anon
it is comming. I was halfway threw it when my father passed on so I have been a little distracted to focus on it.
I didn't think I was limiting us. I certainly don't mean that. But a good point was made here by saying we should learn to play together in our own yard before venturing into others. But until the true nature of self is understood, people will fight and kill to protect their shacky beliefs.
