London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund
Posted by Cernig at 21:13, 10 Jul 2005Via Europhobia (Nosemonkey, you ROCK this week!) comes the news that:
"The Mayor of London has established the London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund, in association with the British Red Cross, to raise money for the victims and their families. The British Red Cross has already donated £50,000 to the Fund.
The money raised will be held in a Trust and used to assist the victims of the attack, their immediate families and partners in a variety of ways. For example, they may be used to relieve sickness and disability, physical or mental, caused by the attack or to relieve financial needs. The money may also be used to support other appropriate projects that the funds allow.
The funds will be distributed by the Trustees of the London Bombings Relief Trust, who will be appointed by the Greater London Authority."
This is the link for the Red Cross website page where you can donate.
Spread this one around, folks. Personally, I would love to see this on every blog and website from here to the moon by the end of next week.
C'MON!
As Saint Sir Bob Geldoff (or is that Sir Saint Bob?)would say...
GIVE THEM YOUR FOOKIN' MONEY!

...how the British are reacting to the terrorist hit?
We could all take a lesson from them I think for their behaviour. For a start I knew that Britain had become multi-cultural but had no idea to what extent until I was watching the news today on TV and saw the hundreds of people of all colours and cultures flocking around talking about the bombings.
The authorities have asked the Muslim community for assistance with dealing with the people responsible and many Muslims have come forward to offer condolences.
Even the parents of one of the bombers offered sympathy to the injured and families of the dead.
I have not seen any evidence of violent outbreaks towards Muslims and the authorities have been very polite and concerned when asking for assistance.
I can see from this that Britain can only grow in strength and cohesion between the different people and cultures.
