The Indonesians want to make an example of a westener whenever they are 'caught' trafficking drugs in their country. Australians are at even more risk of this form of chest beating because of the standover(big brother)tactics from John Howard and his Government towards countries in South East Asia.
BUT a blind man on a galloping horse can see that this girl is the innocent victim of Australia's failure to make it's 'own' country secure from drug trafficking.
John Howard is holding back any assistance for one of its own people in a foreign legal farce and I believe it is because of their own shame in allowing this to happen from Australia's own lack of airport security.
WHY would anybody ship drugs INTO a country that everyone else is trying to take drugs OUT OF???
How blatently stupid would one be to pack a huge bag of 'stuff' into a boogie board when it is so easy to detect and search???
It is obvious that Schapelle is a very intelligent young woman. If she were foolish enough to do this crime, she would have atleast had the brains to hide it a little better than this.
Come on Mr Howard, admit we have problems with our own airport security , help this young woman get the justice she deserves, and ensure that this problem never happens again because you were too proud to say "hey, we stuffed up"

yes i agree with you entirely.
i just heard now on tv that howard has said if she is found guilty then the gov will appeal.
too little too late imo.
this girl has a real chance of facing a firing squad.
there is far more to this story than simply a girl with marijuana in her bag.
see australian federal police involvement.
see aus gov lack of involvement until public opinion forced it's hand.
see penalty handed down to man who planned bali bombing.
see statement from jim soorley that it is a trade-off.
corby is a pawn in a dangerous game.
it could have you or me, or our daughters or sons.
can you write a letter to your daily paper and state what you said here.

Something ought to be written about how this is the way Indonesia shows appreciation for disaster relief assistance. It would be different if this were about a real criminal. Have they ran out of real criminals to worry about in Indonesia? How about a 3 or 6 month boycott of tourism to Indonesia? Who would want to visit such an asinine country anyway? There are better places to visit with less arrogant stupidity and fewer tsunamis.

hi jane,
there is a good article today in the cm about schapelle corby by madonna king.
she takes howard to task for the government's handling of the case and that fact that they seem to be more concerned at indonesia's feelings in it.
at last though some more people are taking notice and there now seems to be a little hope for corby.
i sure hope so.

Why would someone take $80,000 worth of marijuana to Bali where it would only sell for $4,000.
As for personal use it would take her the rest of her life to use it.
The penalty of taking drugs to Indonesia is death by firing squad.She had passed through Bali often enough and knew this, why would she take the risk?
It is so rare for people to take marijuana into Bali where it grows like a weed that in fact NO ONE HAS EVER DONE IT BEFORE.
The marijuana was never intended for Bali.It was intended to go from Sydney to Brisbane.
Please go and get informed on this issue and then come back and we will debate.

Just on the fact alone that taking drugs into bali in lagre amounts is just not done should be enough for any sane person to relize that she is innocent this goes way beyond a reasonible doubt not even a south american goverment would be so stupid to prosicute someone in this same situation it makes no sense.

Given that you've already openly declared your status as 'god,' a logical train of thought would suggest that your problem with legislation against pederasts is that it is 'anti-you.'
Elsewhere, in your 'letters' section, you encourage a women who had been the victim of rape to not pursue the matter in court on the basis that "The only reason that he is to face the court of man is because of your * (you or others on your behalf) past complaint. Thus any punitive response laid upon him by the court using you as 'witness' against him would be the result of your vengeful retribution."

They would be dead. But not for some time. There are many ways to make people suffer and what these people have done to children warrents extreme punishment. They prey on those weaker than themselves and those who do not know any better. They ruin lives. Yes as some say these people may be sick. But I am sicker and would gladly take on the role of torturer if it meant keeping children safe.

Greetings Brothers and Sisters! It is very regretable, disappointing and sorrowful that you attack our belovid Brother Terence! Let me set the record straight! Brother Terence DOES NOT BELIEVE THAT HE IS GOD! HE DOES NOT CLAIM TO BE GOD AND WILL NEVER CLAIM TO BE GOD! I put it in capitals to highlight what I say, in this context it doesn't mean that I'm shouting. Brother Terence is the MESSENGER of GOD not GOD. It is like saying Jesus is God or Muhammad is God, they're not and never were or will be. They are messengers of God just like Brother Terence. As for him proclaiming himself as God's Messenger, God already chose him to be his/her messenger and a witch doctor Mulimo told Brother Terence what his path was/is in life and he was told this when he was just a small boy. So yes he is God's messenger but he was already told that so, how can he not be when God chose him?
As for him encouraging people not to report rape, I totally and utterly agree with him 100%! In truth, it's all our fault that women are getting raped! We pay people to do it so, can we expect anything less than what we paid for? Think about it. When you pay taxes, where does that money go? It doesn't just go to fund schools, Colleges, hospitals, roads, to feed and care for the poor etc. Where else does it go? What exactly are we paying our government to do for us? We're paying them to kill others in other countries and you wunder why little children are being blown up??!!? Sometimes, the 'western' police, army officers etc go to other countries and rape women there and we paid them tax money and you wunder why women are being raped where we live??!!? Do you really understand how the law of karma what ever you sow you will reap works? If it says in the bible and curan thou shalt not kill, then why are we paying others to kill? Unfortunately, all religious books have been distorted and cannot be trusted. Only Brother Terence's teachings can be trusted, no other! So don't complain if you or your family get raped or murdered, we all paid others to do that, you get what you paid for, regardless of whether you like or dislike what you bought. If you buy a te-shirt over the net and it looked good on the site and you find it looks crap when you receive it, remember you paid for that and you can either retern it for another te-shirt, get your money refunded or throw it away or give it to someone else. If you pay for a service like highering someone to protect your house, you cannot refund the person if they don't do their jub properly, you can higher someone else but if a murderer gets in and kills your children, money cannot buy them back! If a police man or woman convicts a supposed innocent for murdering or raping someone and they get sentenced to death and after the sentence has been carried out, they find that the convicted one did not rape or murder someone, can we buy back that life? No! We paid for that innocent person to be killed and it's all our fault!!!

place for this man. I'm a sinner to and although the law won't recognize my crimes, God does recognize them and his/her 1 law as you do is done unto you applies to every single one of us and only God is
above the negative aspect of his/her law. Jesus, Muhammad, all the other prophets and God did tell us to love our enemies and to turn the other cheek if someone strikes you. I'm very sure that the rapist
repents of his ways but if he were to be set free without proper educational counseling, then he is liable to succumb to the temptation to rape again even though he may not wish to do so again. Who is/are
the real victims in this case? Is it the 3 women the rapist attacked or is it the rapist? Who are/is the real victimizers? In this case, the rapist is both the real victim and victimizer! He was/is a victim
of the dark sovereign power and his/her dark spirits because they were the ones who tempted him telepathically to attack the 3 women and because he was not educated properly and because society ignored
him until he attacked, he had no chance of resisting the temptation to attack and it's possible that a part of him wanted to do it. Yes he is responsible for his own actions even though he might not have
been able to control himself. His greatest error in my opinion is that he did not listen to the light sovereign power who said to only be loving, merciful, compassionate, forgiving, peaceful etc and to
never disturb the peace of others in any way what so ever. As a result, the rapist let the sin energy grow within him to such an extent that he no longer has full or any control over it. Instead of the
cruel treatment of chemical castration or any other forms of castration, he and all other rapists should instead attend 3 hour seminars and they should be conducted daily and should follow the procedure
as written in the testament of truth and dar es salaam websites. All criminals be they rapists, murderers, thieves, any kind of criminal should be given access to the testament of truth and dar es salaam
websites either online or on CD or on any other media. They should be allowed to peruse the contents therein for as long as they want to so that new truths, knowledge, wisdom and understanding can be sown
into their minds! Not only that but they will be able to fortify their minds against succumbing to temptation and the star prayer in the testament of truth will help them to not retaliate in the face of

I would willingly help them on their lonely roads to recovery and once they have truly reformed and are no longer rapists, I hope they can help me help others to get out of this sad plight! As for the
victims of rape, they aught to know that using man's courts to avenge themselves, to seek compensation and to punish the rapists is ERROR!!! They should not even retaliate in the face of adversity because

about the confessions of a date rapist. I'm very glad that he has seen the error of his ways and I'm also very glad that he has been very honest about what he did. Yes he did sin by doing what he did and
he will suffer for a time because that's how the karmic law works. As you do is done unto you. Karma also works in science, with every action, there is an equal and opozit reaction. If he doesn't retaliate
while suffering, then he will be set free from his past and he is already treating his universal Sisters right. The former date rapist wants to understand more about his own power. The power he has within
him is the power of sin. Sin is not a wrong doing like most people think on earth. Sinning is a wrong doing, it's a transgression of God's command to only be loving, forgiving, compassionate, peaceful
etc and never disturb the peace of others. Sin itself is a form of energy like heat, light but unlike heat and light, it's a spiritual mist of death. All negative emotions anger, hate, jealousy etc are
sins and sins are energy. The more you sin, (fight, steel, lie, rape etc) you are drawing in sin energy into your spirit soul and the vibration of the spirit soul steadilly coursens and you are draged
down to a lower spirit realm by this energy. When we were created, we had 99% light energy and 1% dark energy. The light energy is all the good emotions like love, joy, compassion, forgiveness etc and
the dark energy is the sin energy. Every time we sin, the dark energy slowly forces out some light energy and thus it becomes easier to sin and harder to do good. When that happens, we also lose the power
to be rational, it becomes difficult to listen to reason and eventually it can leed to insanity. So the more the man date raped, the greater the power to rape became and the harder it was for him to control
it. Fortunately, he has a lot of light within him and the light sovereign power and his/her spirits showed him the error of his ways via telepathy and that's why he's now willing to never do it again.
When he suffers, if he doesn't retaliate, the dark energy is being forced out of him and it reterns to the dark sovereign power and the man is then drawing on light energy and he will eventually find it

Greetings Brothers and Sisters! It is very regrettable that you all condone violence against rapists! It is even more regrettable that rapists condone and commit violence against their 'victims'! Please
try and see that violence is not the way. Please believe me when I say that the karmic law "as you do is done unto you" is in operation 24-7 and never ever stops. None are above the karmic law except God.
If you steel from someone, you will be stolen from. If you kill someone, then in the future, you will be killed. If you rape someone, you will be raped in the future! Likewise if you try to or even manage
to educate your attackers, you will be educated as well. If you help them on their lonely roads to recovery, then you will be helped on your roads of recovery. If you give good counsel to others, then
when you're in need, you will be given good counsel. If you use evil to fight evil, you yourselves become evil and you become a part of the problem rather than the cure. If however you use light, truth,
knowledge, wisdom, goodness and anything else that is light and right to persuade those who're using evil to make others suffer to change and to use good to help others, then not only are you not a part
of the problem, not only are you doing something good but the light sovereign power sees your good deeds and will reward you abundantly!!! I'm going to ask a spiritual question because it will further
my point. Do you believe in life after death? Do you believe in God, heaven and hell? Do you know what the prophets and God told us to do? They told us to love our enemies and to tern the other cheek when
struck. God's command to everyone of us is to love one another and always be loving, kind, generous, forgiving, compassionate, merciful, peaceful etc and never disturb the peace of others. The light sovereign
power (light side of God) and the prophets did not say fight your enemies, hurt those who abuse you, torture them in any which way you see fit, punish them in any which way you see fit, lock them up in
prison or leave them to rot! The dark sovereign power (dark side of God) and his/her spirits did tell us to do all that and more but we must only obey the light sovereign power, not the dark sovereign
power. If the bible, curan, tora and all other religious books condone violence in any way what so ever, even physical self defense, then they have been distorted for sure and the teachings of Jesus, Abraham,
Muhammad and others are now lost and it's very difficult to decipher which teachings are correct, what did the prophets say and what rubbish the religious scribes put into the books. If Jesus and the others
don't condone violence, then why are we condoning it? Why do 'victims' want to make rapists and other attackers suffer? Why if the wages for sin is spiritual death? I don't mean the death of the spirit
soul, spirit souls are immortal, I mean spiritual death as in that the spirit soul will be living like zombies in the lowest part of hell, unable to move or do anything and probably looking as if they
are dead. Okay although I do not condone violence, do I wish for you to suffer the same fait you want the rapists to suffer? NEVER! Do I hate you for what you believe? Of course not! What would I do if

i think this is so fucked up, does schapelle corby know how to surf? are there surf beaches in bali? are those people who blew up the night club in bali still on trial? i havnt heard anything about them since the trials on tv and this thing about schapelle seems to be bigger and going faster . If those people are getting of easy or are just forgoten about then something is defenatly wrong. No one should be killed over marijuana, it didnt get out so why do something like that to someone, i think that the person who knows something should be listened to. why would you sell marijuana in bali because when you come back your not going to have the amout of money when you come back, maybe the guy that planted the drugs was going to pick it up in bali and live there and sell it? what i have wrote might sound stupid but this is so wrong i cant stop thinking about it, if she is found guilty this will be on my mind for so long, the other night i cried it got to me so much and im not really one for crying. To the guy who planted it, you are not a man, you are not even human, why let a woman take the fall for you. I wont to protest or do anything i can about this. Might I suggest that people concerned about Schapelle Corby's welfare send brief emails expressing their concern to either the Australian Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Security, Kevin Rudd at Kevin.Rudd.MP@aph.gov.au or to the Foreign Minister, Alexander Downer at minister.downer@dfat.gov.au.
I would recommend supportive, respectful and encouraging e-mails. Schapelle is facing a potential death sentence in Indonesia and it is important that Australia's leading diplomats know the level of support and backing they have among Australian voters for persuing Schapelle's release and bringing her back home to Australia.

I have been writing to newspapers about Schapelle and only one letter has been published.I also noticed that no one else seems to have written or maybe they have and the papers don't want to publish them.
I was thinking about whom to write and then didn't get any further with the thought.
Now I can write immediately.
That's a brilliant idea as it is the government who is not doing anything to help.

As Shadows has indicated, another way to add your support for Schapelle is to express your concerns in the media (it is a good idea to read a little background briefing first).
If you have never attempted a letter to the editor before but can write concisely and intelligently, this is one way to have your perspective added to the public record. Letters to the editor are (of course) accepted by most major newspapers including the Courier Mail. If you click on the CM link, scroll to the centre bottom of the page and look for "To send a formal letter to the editor for possible publication in the newspaper, please click here."
Alternatively, the 'Save a Life' website, where you may find related information on Schapelle provides a list of action strategies describing other ways you may wish to lend your support.

I don't understand why the AFP said the evidence from that prisoner was rubbish when he is prepared to name names of the drug traffickers.
He is in immense danger now for coming forward and will be for many years.
It has seemed to me from the beginning that no single official in Australia cared even the smallest bit.
And as for her having no defence appointed for her, what's that about?
The other thing puzzling me is why did Jim Soorley say it is a trade-off.
I still haven't written to him, I will do it tomorrow for sure.

Well what can I say I found out today the Schapelle is my cousin on my mothers side , I have followed this story before but now will be watching it closer, I can't remember if I have ever meet her I just hope that her innocents is found out before it is to late I want to have the chance to meet her

Email these people and sign petitions.
Write letter to newspapers and your representative in Parliament.
Do not whinge whine or otherwise bitch about the situation until you have done something useful to help.
You will be surprised by the power of the people.

Forget politics. The process will take years. The more Australians make an issue of this, the more of a wedgde it puts between the 2 countries, and the more determined Indonesian politicians will be to ensure she doesn't get out.
Enough is enough. No more talk. What needs to be done requires actions, not words. The only way to do this is to get some elite former SAS commandos to plan a breakout. The beauty of this is that Bali is not exactly 'cutting edge' in terms of its military capabilities and an ambush could be done.
God knows they must think we are stupid and they probably laugh at us. They give some guy who plays a part in mass murder (Bali bombing) 2 1/2 years, and in a half-baked 'kangaroo court', jail an Aussie for 20 years over marijuana.

Essalamou Alikoum Hi, I am a Muslim . I came across Schapelle's story while watching news Yesterday, i tried for hours to know the truth by surfing the web.
.Really, I understand how the people of Australia feel about Schapelle Corby.
I hear so many opinions, on what they could/should do to bring this poor girl home to Australia
Firstely, i have to precise that not only the people of Australia is touched but all shall know the truth and take the time that need to discover it... its a life
I think the best thing individuals can do to help :1/ find out who planted the drugs
2/ contact Islamic site about your concerns
For the love of truth and mercy , I tried n i will try to help
I hope to God she gets out and proven not guilty.

Thank you Mohamed. I find it heartening to see that people from the Muslim faith base share this deep concern for Schapelle's welfare and well-being. As a Muslim, your point of view may be more acceptable to Indonesian authorities than the opinions of christians, secularists or any other representative group.

I am disgusted that no one in authority seems to have any credibility any more because of the lies that are constantly fed to the public. First you had "there will never, never, never be a GST" followed by the "children overboard affair, then "there will be no interest rises after the last election". All lies...But now is the most damaging. "there are 'NO' investigations into drug smuggling by airport baggage handlers !!!!!"
Lies, lies, lies. Doesn't any one tell the truth anymore! What makes these lies so destructive is that there are lives at stake here. Not just the kids on the street who eventually pay the ultimate price for these cover ups but WHAT ABOUT SCHAPELLE CORBY!! This evidence could have been crucial in her proving her innocence.
What are these people trying to hide. Are they or their mates involved? Are they embarrassed that their organisation is NOT the only corrupt policing agency in the world. GET REAL!
Stop playing games with peoples lives to save your own skins.
TELL THE TRUTH for once in your lives.

Have you considered that the most logical explanation to Corby's conviction is that she is guilty? Only the hopelessly naive, caught up in the hype and hysteria could believe the incredible conspiracy theory that is doing the rounds. Consider the theory:
Corrupt person 1: A check-in counter staff member from an airline company in Brisbane decides that Corby's bag will be the one to be used to smuggle drugs to Sydney, so he/she doesn't weight the bag, but marks it some how for corrupt person 2.
Corrupt person 2: A baggage handler is out back waltzing around with a CLEAR plastic bag containing grass. He gets a text message from the counter staff identifing the bag. Wow, what a co-incidence, the bag fits neatly.
Corrupt person 3: A security officer working for the Brisbane Airport Corporation (nothing to do with the airline), gets a text message 'destroy the tape of CORBY getting onto the flight'. He does as he is told.
Corrupt person 4: A baggage handler at Sydney airport. Forgets to take the dope out of CORBY's bag and off it goes to Bali.
Corrupt people 5 & 6: Two custom's officials at Bali find the dope and for no good reason, decide to lie their souls out by saying that Corby was evasive when questioned,and pushed their hands away as they tried to open the bag.
Come on people - wake up. Schapelle Corby looks like 'the-girl-next-door' so we love here and want her back. But let's not overlook the simple explanation that she tried to smuggle a heap of dope into Bali (complacently - because it may be her 2nd or third go) deliberately not placing a lock on her bag, thinking that the old 'I didn't know it was there' argument would work for an attractive Aussie girl. If Schapelle Corby was male, ugly, covered in tatts and missing teeth, Australia wouldn't give a rats ass about him.

Can you believe how destructive and unhelpful ordinary Australians have become in the face of the Corby conviction? It's tragic that a young, good-looking, Aussie girl has to spend a very long time in jail, but there are short-sighted people around playing into the hands of muslem fundamentalists by over-reacting. Threats like 'we're going to destroy your tourist industry economically' , 'how dare they convict an Aussie after all the tsunami money we donated' and 'all Baliness customs officials and judges are corrupt', can only be interpretted as typical western arrogance. Let's protest, but for God's sake, show some dignity and some maturity - we are making a spectacle of ourselves for all the world to see.

I agree with you that all this hype is doing Schapelle no good whatsoever but I can also understand the frustration that her family anf friends must feel.
I truly believe that Schapelle is innocent and under whatever scenario that she has fallen into this mess, I will be showing my support for her in a passive manner with yellow ribbons tied around my trees at home, wearing a yellow ribbon close to my heart to highlight the plight of this poor girl.
But this passive protest and show of support is for all those who are in captivity under questionable circumstances. Let's not forget people like David Hicks who (be he guilty or not) has been held in detention without trial in America for over 3 years. And those held in Australia's detention centres, without trial, for many months and years. This is absolutely unacceptable for any country and should not be tolerated by anyone. This is why I speak up for those who can't when I am asked why I wear a yellow ribbon.
