Nazi UFO Hovering Over Public Rally!! (Or Is It?)

Third Reich Color Photograph

The above image was part of a Power Point slideshow sent to me by my dad last weekend — My dad, who had always felt a terrible apprehension toward computers & electronic gadgets, has become something of an Internet NOOB in the last months :) — It is one among a series of color photographs that were published in the Life magazine* concerning the Third Reich.

All the pics were pretty interesting; but I'm sure you can guess why THIS one caught my eye the most!

Indeed, above the crowd and centered in the foreground, there's a rather odd-looking metal contraption —there's a second one in the background , too.

From the looks of it, and considering the location of the scene, it's clear this is some early example of an electric loudspeaker system —rather primitive to our XXIst century eye, but consider this photo is probably from the mid-1930s!.

But to my Fortean eye, it quickly gave me a strong ressemblance to one of those wild models created by the enigmatic Viktor Schauberger. Compare if not the shape of the loudspeaker in the original image, with this other:

Schauberger's Repulsin 04

One would have to admit there's more than a passing resemblance. And no doubt a skilled user of Photoshop could erase the metal 'pole' sustaining the loudspeakers in the 1st pic, and add a couple of nice details —say a German cross on the 'fuselage' or something to that effect— in order to make a photographic 'evidence' of a Nazi flying saucer!

Does that mean I dismiss all those stories concerning Nazi UFOs? Not necessarily; while one should do well in looking at all that info with skepticism, I still find all those tales to be fascinating. And there is no denying that some German scientists were in fact toying with some very radical aerodynamic ideas right at the end of the WWII. The story of the Horten brothers, and their possible implication in the (in)famous Roswell crash is highly suggestive —and since I've yet to reach a conclusion on that particular event, I'm still free to peruse all those über-unorthodox hypotheses :)

Auf Viedersehen!
