Is lithium also found in sea-water? We have an evaporative salt-works in our town, and for some reason I can't fathom it is now fenced with a high chain-link fence, all fishing permits previously issued for numerous creeks accessed through salt-works territory have been revoked and the place is patrolled 24/7 by armed guards and dogs in 4-wheel drives. For what? Are they worried someone will go in there and nick a bit of cooking salt? I haven't discovered the reason for this strange occurrence (yet!).

Earthling Happy New Year; long time, no talk to. I hope all is well, as we embark on a new year on the TDG forum. Looking forward to learning and engaging in the many provocative topics of discussion that we are so accustomed to having on this board.

Pretty much everything is in sea water. But Lithium is less
than 1 part per million I think, not terribly useful for mining.
Of course the water they are evaporating there could be
locally different, due to whatever comes out of the creeks
where you can't fish any longer.
Maybe they are worried about people polluting the salt, I have
no idea. Perhaps someone can ask them.

If you ask me, nobody —and I do mean NOBODY— likes to spread yellow salt to their steak ;)
It's not the depth of the rabbit hole that bugs me...
It's all the rabbit SH*T you stumble over on your way down!!!

Wouldn't that be more of a glaze anyway?
