Daily Grail will now be illegal in Australia

A landmark legal ruling in Sydney goes further than ever before in setting the trap door for the destruction of the Internet as we know it and the end of alternative news websites and blogs by creating the precedent that simply linking to other websites is breach of copyright and piracy.

Read all about it "here" and "here".

The American Military contracted all the science minds and created the internet. They own it! The Ozz government can do whatever they want, but the US government has 100% sovereignty over the internet. All Gore didn't create the net. Let's hope the forces of change can maintain such a freeom.

The septic tanks may have invented the internet, but it was an Englishman (Tim Berners Lee) that invented the World Wide Web, the friendly face that enables the graphic-rich cyber-world we like to surf.

Furthermore, all the world's servers are not owned or maintained in the US, therefore, you can't say that the US hsa 100% sovereignty over the net. (I know the yanks probably like to think that's the case, but really, you guys DON'T own the whole world).

Hello,

Well now the rest of the world gets to notice what nasty leeching pimps the music industry consists of, artists have tried to tell us for decades , even famous ones like prince and george michael. Its a vampire industry. Time for a ruling to forbid owning other peoples creative rights..that will teach them.

A matter of choice;
Intimidation, corruption and lies, or serenity, sharing and sincerity.

THis is crazy! Tim Berners Lee did not create the internet either. A group of the best and brightest minds were contracted by the American military to create such a computer network. The US military owns the web.

I think you need to study this a bit more. The internet was developed jointly by universities in America and England resulting in ARPANET which later evolved into the WWW. The only thing the military did was to help develope protocols for secure transmission and recieving. The first networked transmissions were in 1968.

The US military paid for a lot of the research. They don't own the network.

The US military has paid for a lot of things that they do not own, simply because they want technology to advance. It is not altruism, just practicality - they don't know what will be useful in the future, so they fund all kinds of research and engineering.

Happy Christmas to you, Mrs Dr X. and Baby Ben (who isn't such a baby any more!). Don't forget to leave some cake out for those Wombles on the Common!
