Dream of nuclear war as North Korea crisis escalates

I've had several dreams of surviving a nuclear war over the years, but last week I had a particularly vivid dream. I was near the launch of a nuclear missile, and I saw it rise into the sky... and falter, then fall back towards the ground. I instinctively ducked down, even though it was futile, as the bomb hit the earth. This was incredibly vivid and sharp, like a blu-ray dvd. There was complete silence as the bomb fell, then I heard a cracking BOOM! as the nuclear warhead detonated. A shockwave of blinding light hit me and I turned to ash.

I hope this isn't a dream that comes true!

And in the news today, North Korea aims missile at Hawaii, and the US rallies a Pacific defence in response.

Maybe the missile fails, and it lands on Kim Jong Il's head?

I have had a reoccurring dream since I was a child that I would be some survivor after the bomb went off and it is really real to me. I think it was initially induced though due to the fact I was born and raised in Las Vegas and we have Nellis Air Force there and also Beatty Test site and bombs would make the ground shake all of the time. But Twilight Zone made an impression on me too with its scenes. I still have those dreams -

I heard about N. Korea aiming that at us, what does all of this mean?

Maybe it's just a staging prepared for the North Korean people. A part of the continuous program to brainwash them into submission.

For us, trying to discern what happens in N. Koreas is as dificult as if we were trying to study what happens in the fictional state of Oceania (from the novel 1984) from the outside.

That's the best case scenario anyway.

Honestly, I think it means the pot of crazy they've got on the stove over there is about to boil over.

North Korea is a failing state led by a madman who is either dying or dead. The rest of his entourage may be so deeply programmed that they will carry out his wishes anyway.

The missile they are preparing is merely a demonstration. No nuke. They can't hit anything reliably at long range. There may not be enough time left to them to become proficient or build a significant arsenal.

Their ideal plan is to replicate the original Korean War campaign, which nearly worked. The only obstacle to a lightning strike today would be the South Korean defenses. North Korea is known to be skilled at tunneling and even blew up an entire mountain for a test. We should expect them to tunnel under the South Korean lines and detonate a nuke under them. Then the North pours their army through the breach. A couple more nukes at strategic locations disrupt the South's response. The rest are used to hold Japan hostage. Overwhelm the South fast enough and it's a done deal.

Right now it's a race between insanity and collapse. Even without U.S. support, the South will likely win. It's too bad the North hasn't figured that out.

Hi,
I do not understand the history of what is going on over there. All I know is the few things I hear on the news if I listen to it for a bit....it is all so negative and scary in ways.

Today they said that they were sending US John McCain boat over to intercept that ship and ask to go aboard and check for weapons.........

What does N. Korea want?

What does Iran and N Korea have that their are buddies now? I heard that too, that Iran and ? will? and what ever.....It is so much to think about...so much is happening - I do not understand what is the agenda of N. Korea and what they want. Supposedly "they" say Iran is helping them - now, that is weird if the "new generation" is looking for our help over in Iran to help them with this bull takeover of their new leader and the rioting.....But, why does the USA feel they have to tell every one what to do and how to live? John McCain was on today speaking about the USA having moral issues to deal with - that we set an example - "yeah right" I think, and we did all of that torture to those prisoners......We are not so moral over here. The USA is as bogus as any other nation, and we have no right to tell others how to think or live - or what Human Rights are all about just because some think differntly than others????? .......How come we are not in Africa helping others or the South American tribes trying to keep their trees? That is Human Rights....the USA interests are in natural resources and what they can get out of it.....Oil ,Gold, this or that....money - greed power and all. The USA is very arrogant and I see no reason why we should be when we are idiots. Europe is far ahead of us. I see this as I have travelled the world - the average citizen in the US has rarely travelled outside of their own state....now that is scary when trying to understand how the world economy and natural - alternative energy is at play.....Germany and many other countries are way ahead of us and I do not see them saying they set the stage for what is right and wrong. I think we set the stage for what is glutinous (spelling?) ...and I can see how other countries think of us as pigs. Truly I can. In other ways there are good things about the USA.

N. Korea is pretty simple. The country is run by a a fairly small group of dictatorial types, and by the armed forces.

They want to keep control, because if they lose control, they are in deep guano. Whereas they make a good living keeping the situation as it is now.

They cooperate with Iran because it is good business.
