For the Orthodox Church this celebration falls instead the September 21

Mary’s father was a rich, charitable and nice man, his only regret was have not children, also because in Palestine the absence of children was looked a dishonour. A day he retired himself in the desert for penance, to fast and to pray. The people asked where that man so nice and hospitable were. Anna, his wife, always wept for her sterility; over all her was sad for her husband and she thought to be abandoned from every hope. She was wandering in her fine home, in the garden and any her handmaid and any her friend could comfort. Until the Angel of Lord appeared: he announced that in short time she would have conceived and delivered. Anna sent young and quick servant to inform her husband that came back to home with intention to manage a big party for this news. The party was great: 100 kids was prepared to the people, 100 lambs “without stain and without default” was offered to the Lord. When the time arrived Anne delivered a beautiful and quiet baby that was called Mary.

Per la Chiesa Ortodossa questa festività cade il 21 Settembre

Gioacchino era un uomo ricco, caritatevole, e simpatico a tutti.
Il suo solo dispiacere era quello di non avere figli, anche perché in Palestina il non avere figli veniva considerato un disonore. Un giorno si ritirò nel deserto in penitenza a digiunare e pregare. La gente si domandava dove fosse mai andato a finire quel signore così allegro e ospitale. Anna, sua moglie, non faceva che piangere sulla sua sterilità; si doleva soprattutto per suo marito e le pareva di essere stata abbandonata da ogni speranza. Vagava per la sua bella casa e per il giardino e nessuna ancella e nessuna amica poteva consolarla.
Finché apparve l’Angelo del Signore: le annunciò che presto avrebbe concepito e partorito. Anna mandò subito un servo giovane e svelto ad avvertire Gioacchino il quale subito si mise in cammino verso casa con l’intenzione di fare una gran festa.
La festa si fece: al popolo furono imbanditi 100 capretti, al Signore furono offerti 100 agnelli “senza macchia e senza difetto”. Arrivato il tempo Anna partorì una bellissima e tranquilla bambina a cui fu posto il nome di Maria.
