- AUGUST 19: FULL MOON AND MOON OF THE CORN

1) ZHONGYUAN JIE:
Celebration of the half-year that falls the fifteenth night of the seventh month of the lunar calendar.
It is a buddhist celebration to remember the born of Sakyamuni.

2) RAKSHA BHANDAM:
Family folk celebration that decrees the bond
between brother and sister.

3) LUNAR SPIRITS (E.C.Agrippa):
Often they appear with big, wide, soft and phlegmatic body,
with a color similar to a dark cloud.
They have tumid face, red and tearful eyes, bald head,
teeth like wild-boar's teeth.
Their movement is similar to the storm on the sea.
As their sign will appear a huge circular rain.
Their peculiar shapes:
A King armed with arrow that rides a buck.
A little boy.
A huntress woman furnished with bow and darts.

5) AFRICAN TALE ABOUT THE MOON (tale of the Scilluk people,
sudanese people that lives in the zon of White Nile):
The Sun and the Moon, husband and wife, happy lived together, until a day happened that the Sun, returned at home from his usual turn around the world, don't found the dinner ready on the table. The Moon overcome by laziness had dozed all the day.
"Take the water, at least!" the Sun said.
Nothing, the Moon hung here and there.
So, the Sun filled a pot with water,and started to cook the mush. The Moon immovable watched.
Finished the cooking, the Sun poured the mush on the choppin-board and prepared himself to the sup.
The Sun was not sat on the chair yet, that the Moon rushed herself on the mush and cut a slice only for her.
The Sun lost the pacience and rumbled "You are quick to eat, but to drudge in kitchen has fallen to me!"
He seized the choppin-board with the mush and hurled it on the Moon's face that ran to hide herself.
Since the day they never more made peace, never go out in the road of the Sky together, and the Moon, to show herself, waits that the husband be returned at home.

1) ZHONGYUAN JIE:
Festività di metà anno che cade la quindicesima notte del settimo mese del calendario lunare.
E'una festa buddista per ricordare la nascita di Sakyamuni.

2) RAKSHA BHANDAM:
Festività popolare che si svolge nell'ambito famigliare,
sancisce il legame fra fratello e sorella.

3) SPIRITI DELLA LUNA(E.C.Agrippa):
Appariranno per lo più col corpo grande, ampio, mollo e flemmatico, di colore simile a nube scura e tenebrosa, col volto tumido, gli occhi rossi e lacrimosi, calva la testa, i denti come quelli di cinghiale.
Il loro movimento è simile a procella sul mare.
Per il loro segno apparirà una ingente pioggia in circolo.
Loro forme particolari:.
Un Re armato di freccia, cavalcante un daino.
Un piccolo fanciullo.
Una donna cacciatrice munita d'arco e di frecce.
Una vacca.
Un piccolo daino.

5) RACCONTO AFRICANO SULLA LUNA (racconto del popolo Scilluk,
popolazione sudanese stanziata nella zona del Nilo Bianco):
Il Sole e la Luna, marito e moglie, vivevano insieme felicemente
finchè un giorno accadde che il Sole tornò a casa, dal suo solito giro intorno al mondo, e non trovò la cena pronta sul tavolo.
La Luna vinta dalla pigrizia aveva sonnechiato tutto il giorno.
"Prendi un pò d'acqua, almeno!" disse il Sole.
Niente, la Luna ciondolava qua e là.
Così, il Sole riempì un paiolo d'acqua e iniziò a cucinare la polenta. La Luna immobile guardava.
Terminata la cottura, Il Sole rovesciò la polenta sul tagliere e si dispose a cenare.
Il Sole non si era ancora seduto sulla sedia che la Luna si precipitò sulla polenta e ne tagliò una fetta solo per lei.
Il Sole perse la pazienza e tuonò: "Sei veloce per mangiare, ma a sfacchinare in cucina è toccato a me!"
Afferrò il tagliere con la polenta e lo lanciò in faccia alla Luna che corse via a nascondersi.
Da quel giorno non hanno fatto più pace, non escono mai insieme per le vie del Cielo, e la Luna, per mostrarsi aspetta che il marito si sia ritirato in casa.
