On Pyramid Quest by Robert M. Schoch

Hi folks, I wanted to blog out with this right now. I think you may enjoy reding this.

I have furthered my reading into Pyramid Quest. I have almost completed it. I have been utterly fascinated by all of the information I have been reading. I am near the end of the appendices. The appendices section alone is like obtaining a zillion books on great literature archived through the eons of time pertaining to Egyptology and sacred monuments.

For you enthusiasts who like geometry and mathematics, there is a tremendous amount of references and defined terms and structured analysis on the Great Pyramid. For those who love the spiritual aspects and the higher realms of metaphysics, the great authors and their works are presented and are easily at hand. For everyone who is into oblique theories of how the Great Pyramid was built, Schoch has covered some of the most interesting views and refers to the greatest surveys of the Great Pyramid ever taken. And then there is always the question of what was the actual purpose of the Great Pyramid; Tomb or otherwise? Schoch also addresses the re-dating of the Sphinx and his geological findings making Pyramid Quest a most unique book filled with classic and modern pop culture literature addressing Ancient Egypt.

I feel Pyramid Quest to be an incredible undertaking and very valuable book for any whom are interested in Egyptology. Secrets of the Great Pyramid by Peter Tompkins, is herald as the Rosetta Stone in the hierarchy of books relished sacred in relation to ancient and modern bodies of knowledge based on ancient Egyptians and the Great Pyramid. I feel that now Dr. Robert M. Schoch, has risen to the occasion once again and will be among those of the great authors held in reverie for his endearing contributions to the collective body of research on Egyptology and the Great Pyramid.

I also have known for quite a while that our own Mr. Greg Taylor – Holy Father of the Daily Grail, has placed his foot and stepped into the “Pyramid Quest “ as well and is quoted on the back cover of the book. ( I kept quiet about this Greg) I will quote Greg after I quote Publishers Weekly. I am very happy to be aware of such great undertakings and proud of my colleagues. I wish everyone who was interested in Egyptology and all it has to offer could have their hands on Pyramid Quest; it is a keepsake that you will forever shelve in your library. The illustrations and the photos are truly awesome and historical. Pyramid Quest is a fascinating, lovely book and it feels really good to read.

I like it a lot. Here is what Publishers Weekly had to say :

Pyramid Quest: Secrets of the Great Pyramid and the Dawn of Civilization

From Publishers Weekly --------------

“ Traditionally, scientists and other scholars have argued that Egyptians constructed the Great Pyramid in one remarkable burst of activity during the reign of Pharaoh Khufu (2551-2528 B.C.). Drawing on archeological and scientific scholarship in their third collaboration, geologist Schoch and writer McNally challenge this view and conclude that the foundation of the edifice can be traced to the earliest Egyptian empires, as far back as 7000-5000 B.C. Among their assertions are that the Great Pyramid may not have been a tomb (no mummy has ever been found inside), but served other cultic and mythological purposes, with both the external and internal areas serving different roles in different eras; between 1500 and 500 B.C., for instance, the pyramid was probably used for ritual training and initiation. Schoch devotes more than a third of the book to appendixes that provide details on such topics as the pyramid's external dimensions, its passages and chambers, and the dating of the structure. Although the book will be controversial for some, it contains such a wealth of information about ancient Egypt and the science of the construction of the pyramids that it may be the only guide to the Great Pyramid most readers will ever need. Here is what Mr. Greg Taylor of The Daily Grail had to say :

“For more than a decade, Schoch has put his professional reputation on the line by bravely claiming that erosion on the Sphinx at Giza points to an earlier construction than officially recognized. For his intellectual curiosity, the Boston University geologist has been pilloried by orthodox academia-though in the intervening years no truly impartial investigation has been launched to settle the issue, despite the extraordinary implications of his claims.”

OK, I am back now, but on another note in the same tune of Egyptology....
I have a question : Is the new hard copied National Geographic Magazine and the article of King Tut’s face the same article that was produced as a television program that was mentioned earlier on when we were discussing cone-heads?
( I didn’t get a chance to see the television production )

The cone-heads are in reference to the book I have, X-raying the Pharaohs. I had mentioned there were X-rays in that old book showing Pharaohs to have “cone-heads,” and there was even an X-ray of a baboon in place of a Pharaoh. For those who are not quite sure what I am talking about, please refer back to my first blog on Pyramid Quest and the threads that follow thereafter.

Thank you,

Dr. Colette M. Dowell

I have read it and I am very impressed. I am going to read it again and make notes in the margins. Then, I am going to reread all my other books on the subject. Things are coming together.
