Here we go..(Update)

Hopefully this blog and its subject matter won't be infringing on any of the Grail's rules, or regulations. I recently received 2 doses of Dimethyltryptamine(DMT). I've experimented with other psychedelics and entheogens before, And have studied (as I'm confident most of you have)the mysterious DMT multiverse.Well, as much as one who hasn't actually been there can-anyways.None the less, The point of this particular blog will be to serve as my only medium for documenting what i'm able to remember of my "trip", outside of my personal diary. I haven't decided exactly when i'm going to undergo the experiment , but it will be in the next few day's i assume. This is simply an introduction, and when i have something to report, i will edit this message and add it below the line.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

As i promised, i will now deliver a true and faithful account of my experience with "spice".

The date was 6/28/2010 @ around 12:30am. I spent a good amount of time bathing and relaxing my body and mind, vibrating the "adoration of the bath" i translated into Enochian. The time was drawing near, and my girlfriend was waiting in our bedroom laying on the mattress reading a book. As much as i had prepared myself, i was still struck with the pre-flight anxiety one would expect from a departure of this caliber. I lit the taper candles on my altar/bookshelf, and set fire to some black-opium incense i had around. I did some stretching, then proceeded to seat myself in the "dragon" asana' posture. I had my roommates waterpipe laying before me with the DiMiTri sandwiched between two layers of homegrown rosemary. I did a few breathing exercises, opened my eyes, stared down the bong-barrel, and fired the lighter.

What happened next, can not be fully expressed by any form of common-communication. But damnit, i'll try.

I lit the bowl cautiously , being careful not to burn the product too much. I drew it in long and hard , the rosemary made it surprisingly smooth since i had heard horror stories of how absurdly harsh the smoke is. I held it deep in my lungs for a safe 10-15 seconds, then exhaled. I went back down to take another hit, but as i pulled the bong to my mouth-my entire body bursted into a bright neon red, It's not that i didn't want to take another toke, its that i truthfully don't think i was able to.(Sober Note:at this point my girlfriend recalls me saying "Oh F*ck..Nevermind" as i placed the bong back down on the floor, and shut my eyes.)
Like many other reports, i recall being shotgun-blasted in the third eye with an ethereal chamber full of kaleidoscope-patterns and shapes resembling Tibetan mandala's. I felt a strong force almost blowing me back. A feeling i would imagine, that is similar to what the would-be astronauts feel when strapped in NASA's 20 G centrifuge. I was flinching at the sheer power of the sensation. I believe my eyes even began to water from the brilliant-force. My head started pulsing, emitting signal waves, i began to see in an almost "thermal vision" i could see my girlfriend on the bed, the bong on the floor, the books in the bookcase in front of me. It was as if, i was a surgeon viewing the entire room through a brain-scan machine.(Sober Note: This was all happening while my eyes were completely shut.)
It was far too overwhelming, and i was having trouble giving-way to the experience. My Ego struggled for control of the moment, which i believe is what conjured most, if not all the fear i was having.
I decided it was better to lay on my back, rather than attempting to balance my body-weight in such an awkward position.I un-tucked my legs, and laid flat on my back, and shut my eyes. As i lay down, the rigid geometric patterns in my mind, were being exchanged for free-flowing energy. These rivers of energy were composed of every single symbol ever known. It ranged from every letter of every alphabet across all time and region, to every advertising logo ever thrown at us in our daily lives.

I mean literally..

I can remember witnessing Cuneiform scripture,Christian cross's, The McDonald's logo,Hexagrams,Hebrew Characters. Everything, All flowing without path. Beyond these shapes my attention was drawn to these three figures standing above me,around me, and in me. All three with their Deity-Like presence in a slow spiral-formation,began to fall. Lower and lower and lower. Drawing closer to my face. I could feel them, it was getting stronger as they descended upon me. I couldn't help but smile, this was just too ridiculous. They finally came as close as they could, their almost shapeless heads were within touching range of mine. What i believed to be their faces, were non-distinguishable shapes, that were moving around the oblong canvas of the head. Even then, i somehow constantly sensed a comforting smile projected from these almost chaotic figures. They were speaking in a language that was almost audible to the ear. Yet not at all... It wasn't produced by vocal cords, nor a computer-But felt like a cross between the two. I suppose it could be best described as Telepathy. I was being delivered a message, that had no real substance. It was in the form of sensation, emotion, raw concept. It was of love. Curious, almost parent-like love. I couldn't distinguish if whether or not they were welcoming me home, or discovering me for the first time.
The emotion was almost identical to that which one feels as a child, when you are visited by relatives whom you have not seen in a very long time, or perhaps can't remember ever seeing before. Yet these people who are much older than you, are so-over joyed to see you again and shower you with attention and loving-embrace while they comment on how much you have grown since the last time they saw you.
That attention, is what i felt.

They touched me with their minds, i almost felt it physically. For one reason or another, i opened my eyes to challenge the reality. My Ego started taunting them. Shunning them back to wherever they came. I had no idea why i felt like i had to open my eyes, but i quickly shut them again!.

They had twirled back up the spiral, bidding me farewell. The smile couldn't be sensed anymore, but the love was still there. I was saying goodbye.

I feel like i failed in a way. Or my control-freak personality failed me. The only time i felt fearful was when i was trying to ignore the "message". I don't know how to make any sense of this, beyond the fact that it was beautiful. I'm not saying i literally came in contact with entities of another dimension. But it MOST DEFINITELY felt like it. As anyone who has done it before knows, it's all too difficult to put the entirety of the adventure down on paper, or in text.

Anyways, i'd love to hear your encounters and comments on mine.

May I recommend a few things before you go through the "doorway to heaven"?

Get away from civilisation (my first "test" found me wandering on busy streets in my underwear, getting arrested, spending the night in jail and having my reputation in the neighborhood shot...)

Drive to a very secluded area, park the car, hide the keys and leave yourself a sticky note on the seat where you put them, walk a good kilometer away and bring a GPS.

By "dose" I assume you're talking about powder. Take half of one first, see what effect you get from it. Some folks will freak, some will get a good trip. Then move on to the full dose if you enjoyed it. If in liquid form, put half on tobacco, roll it up and smoke it. Experiment at a lower concentration first.

Have a good trip :)

Don't do this alone. Have a trusted friend beside you.

Even better would be to have an experienced shaman with knowledge of such things.

Good luck.

And by 'you', I'm sure you meant 'a friend of a friend'. ;)

Look forward to hearing what you (or your FOAF) experience. (I've been told that) DMT smoke can be pretty harsh, so be prepared to hold in against your reflex in order to maximise your effect. And prepare for ontological chaos...

Kind regards,
Greg

To play with my brain. Brain wave entrainment. I listen to beats and white noise to tune my brain for deep astral sleep. I usualy get a good nights sleep with a fabulous dream of out a body flying about.

DMT is still cooked up by the pineal gland in my brain and a little tuning gets it pumping just fine.

wow what a ride! however your own ego getting in the way may not be why the "deities" seemed to fade or say goodbye. originally you mentioned you were anxious about the journey. sometimes this nervous tension can cause an imbalance in energies which triggered a less confident, even submissive response from these figures (if we can assume that they are otherworldly). i find it similar to how a dog can sense fear. i don't think you failed but you need more training. you must not let any form of dark consume your mind and sometimes you must prepare your body for days, even weeks before going on a "Quest".

hope i didn't sound too much like i'm nuts :P

Not at all, that's very interesting. Thank you!

How much time did your experience take? did you clock it?

Any nasty after-effects?

Would you try it again?

That's something i forgot to report!,

Time:the experience felt like a good 30 minutes at least, but my girlfriend claimed it was less than 5 minutes total. The exact amount of time that lapsed is unknown.

After-Effects: None, minor chills. But i felt very clean afterwards.

Would i do it again: ABSOLUTELY.

That I find interesting, there are some legends of shamans going into the spirit world, especially in Native American culture, where upon returning from their quest must rejuvenate themselves because they have aged substantially. What took only a days time in reality feels like a year to the individual who went through the ordeal. They would usually gain youth again by smoking tobacco and performing initiation type rituals.

This aspect of DMT experiences fascinates me. My FOAF told me that during their experience, they saw an 'Escher cube tesselation', at the centre of which was some sort of structure constantly fanning out from the conjunction of 3 of the cubes. On the edge of this fan were glyphs (of unknown origin), constantly changing and being replaced by the fanning action. Then a 'telepathic' voice was heard, saying simply "This is how we create reality."

(Incidently, the closest thing to this 'fanning action' that this FOAF has seen is the animation of a rotating hypercube:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co...

Wondering if this is related to the 'self-transforming' aspect often mentioned.)

Going into this alphabet/language component of hallucinogens (mainly talking DMT and psilocybin) furthere, here's a few choice cuts from different individuals' experiences:

  • “This hallucinogen induced phenomenon isn’t like that; it’s simply a brain state that allows the expression of the assembly language that lies behind language, or a primal language of the sort that Robert Graves discussed in The White Goddess, or a Kabbalistic language of the sort that is described in the Zohar, a primal “ur sprach” that comes out of oneself.” (Terence McKenna)
  • “Similar visions from previous experiences, being in some sort of neon hypercube room, maybe in a castle of some sort, walls pulsing and glowing, with intricate detailed hieroglyphics and op-art style patterns. A sense of some sort of entities there, showing me things.”
  • “The toilet bowl was crawling with mysterious interlocking hieroglyphs that seemed to be the keys to the universe.”
  • "It was like a fantasy alphabet, a cross between runes and Russian or Arabic writing. It felt like there was some internal link information in it, like it was data. It wasn’t just random. Like seeing panels with a cut-out shape, rounded edges, hieroglyphics of some sort.”
  • * “The white room consisted mostly of internal linklight and space. There were internal linkcubes stacked with icons on the surfaces, like a Logos of consciousness.”
  • ”I burst into its main chamber. [...] I dont know if it’s because of my interest in computers or not, but it seems like it’s the raw bits of reality. It’s a lot more than only ones and internal linkzeros. It’s a higher level, very potent bits.”
  • “Then black lines faded into view on the surface of the tube and began to move and rearrange themselves in ordered vertical and horizontal registers and in chaotic spirals and zig-zags. Very often strings of almost recognisable numbers and letters would appear, but just as frequently I would see sections of script from languages that were completely unknown to me – sometimes expressed in what looked like hieroglyphs, picture writing or signs. Constantly shifting, sorting and juggling like a computer programme running through a thousand different alphabets in an instant.” (Author Graham Hancock’s account in ‘Supernatural’)

Interesting how in a number of cases these glyphs are related to a type of 'assembly language' of the cosmos. Simulation argument, here we come... ;)

Kind regards,
Greg
