From the outstanding documentary DMT: The Spirit Molecule, here's David Nichols, a world expert on the pharmacology of psychedelics, discussing the curious 'alien entity' aspect of the DMT trip:

What do you think the 'contact' aspect of DMT is? Pure hallucination, an internal dialogue, or contact with some other intelligence?

Trite as it is to say it, our perceptions are entirely a question of frequency and wavelength. Strong drugs just change our frequency. It may be blunt force trauma, but it does let us see the other wavelengths.
I still think that every skeptical materialist should go on an overnight field trip to Bobby Mackey's bar in Wilder, KY - Zak Bagans leading the tour.

Interesting - sentient beings not of this physical plane... a great description that can explain angels, demons, gods, aliens. But still - WHAT are they?

The real anomaly would be if we did "not" see alternate beings when we changed our frequency. As an infinitely plastic zoo of interfering and overlapping frequencies that can resolve into most anything most anything can be found if one just happens to be looking or be able to look. This why children and animals are more likely to "see" ghosts. Their vibrational boundaries are less circumscribed by "adult" social conditioning. They are freer to resonate with more of the vibrational world.
