Disappointment

Quote of the Day:

The majority of clinical trials are funded by pharma companies, which contributes to a medical system that prioritises the prescription of drugs, even for conditions such as pain that are strongly influenced by social and psychological factors.

    1. screen freezes
Not ‘script debug’ — but a pop-up strip at the bottom about secure content, which I don’t get at other websites.

Also, TDG is running slower for me than other websites; and it keeps erasing parts of this comment as I’m typing it.

      1. browser
I don’t know if you are on a phone, tablet or computer, but I checked all of my browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari on a Mac) and I am not having that issue. But I do know I have had this problem before on Facebook and Youtube if I have the Adobe Flash plugin called Shockwave Flash. Try switching browsers, such as to Chrome which can’t use that plugin (newer versions) or clean the cache and cookies of the browser. This is what worked for me on those other sites. To turn off Shockwave Flash, go to the menu at the top right of your browser and look up Add-ons, then Plugins and tell the plugin to Never Activate. Note: this may prevent you from viewing some video streaming sites.

My guess is it’s an ad causing the problem. You could also try viewing the page in a Private Browsing window. I had a similar problem with ads on Scribd the other day and this solved the problem. Right now on my browser (Firefox on a Windows 7) I don’t see ads because I have my flash plugin turned off. I’m 90% sure that’s what the problem is. I don’t have Adblock either.

Sorry if I sound like a know-it-all. I’ve had a lot of crap experience with Flash 😛

        1. What a relief

          Thanks! That was easy. I’m so glad you’re a know-it-all. 😉

  1. T is for Tea
It’s amazing how blind a sheep a person can be, and downright scary. We look at this book and think it’s a horrible racist backwater only destined to set humanity back a couple of steps. How do people get so taken into these beliefs? I know that cult members aren’t stupid, but weak minded – Yes. I’m sure Celestial Seasonings doesn’t like it getting out that this is the history of their company: Racist bigotry and cults. Glad I hate tea.

  2. T is for Take It
Jeez, the comments under the tea story just don’t seem to care that the tea they love was based on racial bias. That’s…sad. A lot of them seem like atheists too who keep saying that religion shouldn’t play a part in what you drink. Well deciding not to drink CS hasn’t got to do with religion here, it’s the fact that a company was founded on racism. Other commenters just shrug and walk away:
This doesn’t really surprise me. Many people were seeking new and different religious, spiritual and philosophical paths in the 1960’s. The fact that this “new age” bible/fantasy/philosophy inspired a really great tea doesn’t matter to me one bit.
So in other words you’re the type of person who watches a kitten being beaten and does nothing, right? I get it, most oif our well known authors, philosophers, and inventors at the time were horribly racist, but that doesn’t mean we should just roll over and take it. We can’t punch Edison in the face for electrocuting an elephant, but we can still protest against CS for being dick bags. Hopefully this story will inspire someone to make a move.

Also there is a comment way down that says the cops showed up a lot at the plant because illegal materials were found on the premises. To the people saying that Coke contained cocaine as ammo – I know, but that was in the late 1800s, this is the 1960s through the 80s. By then we kinda didn’t trust it.
