“I guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet. But your great-great-great grandkids are gonna love it.”

Thanks to Leonardo and Michelangelo, for making me learn their art was worth the 4 ½ hours in line.

Quote of the Day:

“Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.”

~Calvin and Hobbes, by Bill Watterson.

  1. news
Humvee: Honestly not bothered by them making a new Humvee. More concerned when they decide it’s a good idea to make them available to the average Joe like the Jeep and Hummer. Eight miles to the gallon sounds so appealing 😛

Evil: I don’t think all aliens are evil, but I do believe that like humans some of aliens would be evil while others of their own kind may be “good.” God willing Frieza’s race doesn’t exist.

3 Penises: I would be very concerned that the boy has more internal deformities that have not been detected. Three dicks is one thing but no anus is usually one of those red flags that as a doctor could mean his whole lower GI tract is a mess. Usually when an animal is born without an anus it dies in the womb.

Omega 3: I would like to point out that each of the pills in that stock photo are 1.25 inches in length. Why anyone would want to swallow that I can’t imagine. I remember when people got prescriptions for it back when I worked at a pharmacy we used to ask them if the doctor warned them about the size of the pill. Usually they came in large jars of 120 pills which was a 3 months supply depending on what was written by the doctor. Your breath would always smell like fish. I always wished I could tell them it was complete snake oil but you weren’t allowed to educate people on common sense.

Painting: I saw this on the news a few days ago. It could be worse, much much worse. I don’t blame the kid, however I would like to know how he got the drink he was holding past security. I would be more concerned about that. My friend owns a shop that sells local art and makes people put their drinks down at the door and the art there only goes up to $1000. So yeah…something to think about.

Putin Birds: I see Kevin Costner, but I agree that is weird.

    1. Fish Oil
“Cognitive decline” is not why most people I know take omega-3’s. Studies like this tend to denigrate a substance in a left-handed fashion by pointing out what they don’t do very well while omitting what they do do very well. Sure the study was up front about it being a “narrow” range of effect, but still it tends to tarnish the substance in an oblique manner.

      1. Joints
I started taking Omega 3 (krill-based) because a doctor told me it would help me with my joints. To be honest I haven’t seen much improvement, so I may end up quitting them.

    2. ‘Evil’
I don’t know. I think that perhaps asigning such labels as ‘good’ versus ‘evil’ to alien entities may be compltely misguided, because we’re falling here into the folly of anthropomorphizising the phenomenon.

I also think that an entity which may very well operate outside the normal boundaries of Time may perceive the concepts of good and evil *very* differently. Time travel speculation almost always involve the idea of going back in time to kill Hitler; I’d suppose the easiest way to kill him would be while he was still a little baby, and you’d try to justify the evil of murdering an innocent baby with the logic of how by doing that you prevented an even bigger evil, that of the deaths of millions during WWII and the Holocaust.

Of course, it’s inevitable to ponder: Then didn’t benevolent aliens, or other superior forces who supposedly guard our hapless little planet, prevent the rise of Hitler? You could come up with all sorts of improvable theories, but maybe one of them would be how killing Hitler might have caused an even worse outcome –like the rise of a less idiotic leader in Germany, which would have prolongued the war even more. Which makes you think that, as messed up and troubled as out present situation is, perhaps THIS is the best timeline possible –imagine a world in which Genghis Khan had conquered the WHOLE world!!

And things get even MORE complicated if you add to this the fact that these beings have learned Death is illusory and all sentient beings are immortal.

So, who knows. Maybe thinking of evil aliens is as pointless as thinking of evil black holes 😉

      1. Aliens – the empathic ones
Aliens – the empathic ones anyway – purportedly believe that interfering too much in our acts of free will is non-productive. The only way a species learns is by making mistakes and suffering the consequences. Having raised two kids myself I an full agreement. However, where the ET’s draw the line is nukes. They will apparently interject in the case of a large scale nuclear war outbreak. They may already have.
