News Briefs 31-07-2014

History Channel’s The World Wars was Ok, but showing McArthur without his epic pipe? That’s like showing a shaven Gandalf without his pointy hat!

Thanks to Richard, for covering for me last week (sorry I forgot, old pal!)

Quote of the Day:

“When you draw from the past, you’re stuck with the myths as they are. Fantasy and science fiction are the mythos of the future. Pop cultural mythos are strong mythos to hold on to, so why not explain magick in terms of the Force?”

~Oberon Zell-Ravenheart (née Timothy Zell)

Pooh: So essentially the giant pooh was a concretion…….bummer 😛

The Onion, Rule 34 and “What has been Seen…” have now officially ruined my childhood. Those nasty dicks…and penises!

Bonsai in SPAAAACE!! – Clearly done for the soul purpose of making cool wallpapers for your desktop.

  2. UFO over Toronto
I wish my UFO sighting could have gotten this much attention, but cell phones with cameras weren’t really around then: Oct 1, 1996 near Finch Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue in Toronto. 8:30am I saw something hovering over a Hydro Tower. It looked man-made but was cylindrical in shape. I didn’t think anything of it, until it turned up on the news a day or so later as a UFO reported in Jerusalem. The object looked just like the one I’d seen. That was the last I heard about it.

    1. Man-made
What do you mean when you say it “looked man-made”?

BTW that debunking argument pointing out to the ubiquity of smartphones with cameras is kind of annoying to me. “With all those cameras in the street, how come we don’t see more UFO images?”

Those debunkers never bother to acknowledge all those ‘cameras’ in our cell phones have very crappy lenses. They are meant to take pictures of birthday parties & selfies, NOT elusive objects up in the sky, under very poor light conditions.

Next time you hear one of those skeptoids recite that tired tirade, ask him or her to take a photo of the full moon with their iPhone, and see if it doesn’t come out as a featureless white blob on a black background 😉

      1. Man-made object
After reading today’s post about the Westall UFO, I think I saw something that was man-made. I remember describing the object as cylindrical in shape, like an old oil can with the spout coming out of the top. The surface of the object was grey, with no discernible markings, but it looked like it could have been a balloon.

  3. Mars
so they are telling me that I am not qualified to go to Mars?

Actually I believe the first earthlings to live on Mars will be bacteria,
and perhaps we have already put them there.
