Come forth…

Quote of the Day:

These are the days that must happen to you.

This is disturbing, in the sense of animal abuse. While the man probably takes good care of his monkey/ape, though i don’t know, this is just awful. Not entertaining, just sad.

    First off, it’s not aliens.

I believe that there is a common denominator to everyones story that has Morgellon’s, whether it is a bacteria from an insect, a parasite they got from traveling abroad, or even something internal. Whatever it is, the worst part about the disease is not the “threads” but the fact that no one believes you. To have a doctor tell you it’s all in your head, meanwhile you could pull a thread out to show him is frightening and pathetic. We live in the 21st century and we are still telling patients it’s their fault, and yes it’s happening more to women than men. There are still a lot of doctors out there who think little of women enough to treat them. Moreover the CDC and FDA do not recognize this as a true disease, so they won’t fund any research into it. The “threads” show strange traits that only make the disease more confusing. They don’t burn down and have no sign of organic material. However, everything can be broken down by some other material, we just have to find Morgellon’s poison. We need more research done and more people to come forward saying they have the disease and not being afraid someone will tell you you’re crazy. 12,000 people may not seem like a lot in the eyes of the people who pay for decisions to be made, but there are more of you out there. If there were no “walks for the cure,” fundraisers at work to sell Avon products, or lemonade stands, would you still believe in cancer?

I mean how strange is it that science seems rather blase’ about the fact that there are almost indestructible fibers period – never mind that they are coming out of peoples’ hides. Think of what could be made with such fibers such as fire retardant materials way, way beyond current commercial capabilities. Is this feigning of non-interest not incredibly bizarre?

Morgellons is in the same class of phenomena as say chemtrails. It’s this big elephant in the living room that the “authorities” pretend isn’t there. It would seem to indicate there are some very, very big secrets out there that we are being protected from because they would scare hell out of everyone if revealed.

True, but then you get into the whole ethical thing. Does this count as trafficking “pieces” of humans, as with organs? Should we really be harvesting these threads from people who are clearly suffering?

I do agree it needs more research and that the ignorance of “hiding under the covers and hoping it goes away” is not an option. People are suffering. Fix the problem. Or at least stop calling these people crazy because that’s A+ bullshit.

“Many physicians including neurologists are unaware that neurological problems alone can cause chronic itch. Neuropathic itch and pain are signaling abnormalities – the source of the problem is not where the symptoms are felt. Like neuropathic pain, neuropathic itch is still poorly understood despite fundamental advances in understanding the mechanisms of itch in the normal nervous system.1 Considered physiologically, neuropathic itch is a pathological form of itch where the stimulus-response curve that governs normal sensation has become distorted and the itch sensation is out of proportion or even completely independent of any pruritogenic stimuli. Like an electrical problem in the wiring harness of an automobile, the actual location and cause of neuropathic itch can be extremely difficult to pin down, but effective treatment may require anatomical and etiological identification of the neurological problem and institution of disease-modifying treatment. In some cases, this may be neurosurgical. Neuropathic itch does not often respond to antihistamines, topical steroids or other medications effective for conventional itch. Furthermore, like other neurological symptoms, itch can signal a potentially serious neurological problem that might need treatment. Most neurology textbooks and training do not discuss the localization and etiology of errant itch, so not all neurological consultations will be insightful. A dermatologist should first examine the patient to exclude conventional causes of itch before requesting neurological consultation.”

I wasn’t implying the “harvesting” of Morgellons threads. I was just saying that the mechanism behind their formation should be of acute scientific interest.
