As an interior designer, I've been witnessing the slow rise of the LED revolution.

LED lightbulbs are still too costly for most households; here in Mexico for example, you can get a 5W bulb that will cost you 50 dollars. When you take into consideration this bulb will last 10 times more than a conventional energy-saving bulb, it does make sense to make the investment... but many people don't have the resources to make the switch —what do you prefer, installing new LED lights in your living room, or a new flatscreen TV? most folks would choose the latter.

But, we *are* getting there. Hopefully in the next 2 years we will see prices be cut to a half. Let's just hope this doesn't translate into what I call the 'low-calorie effect': when you eat low-calorie food in order to consume twice the amount.
