On the Mars surface anomaly, I tend to agree with the angry fed... it's prolly just a photo anomaly. It wouldn't be the first...

Interesting that the same linear measure has been found in the architecture at Teotihuacan as that found in the European and UK megalithis structures by surveyor Alexander Thom - what he named a Megalithic Yard (2.723 feet). The multiples employed are different, but the base measure is identical.

Perhaps not so surprising when one appreciates that the measure is derived from the Earth itself - but pretty amazing just the same that two diverse cultures on opposite sides of the planet came to the same conclusion that it would be the ideal measure to use.
