News Briefs 16-04-2010

Oh boy! This one is a biggie. Release the Tom Hanks!!

Thanks to Turner, Greg, Susan, Destiny Land & Commander Shepard.

Quote of the Day:
“All the cultures in human history except the Western industrial civilization have held holotropic states of consciousness in great esteem. They induced them whenever they wanted to connect to their deities, other dimensions of reality, and with the forces of nature. They also used them for diagnosing and healing, cultivation of extrasensory perception, and artistic inspiration. They spent much time and energy to develop safe and effective ways of inducing them.”

Stanislav Grof.

  1. “Toba Bottleneck”
Great article on the Toba controversy, and a nice follow up to Grondine’s blog on the subject.

By the way, haven’t seen any mention on The Daily Grail regarding the latest Iceland eruptions. Maybe I missed it.

      1. Hanks and Thanks
Sorry I gave your intro the “blow by”. I’m surprised I didn’t click thinking it was a link to some Dan Brown bombshell. I have suppressed any association of Hanks and volcanoes. But I am most grateful it didn’t work out for him to replace Michael Keaton as Batman.

  2. It’s amazing what a little contrast will do
The San Damiano crucifix was featured in our textbooks at art college, in lectures on art history, and, if I recall, was on at least one test. No one, out of a couple hundred horny art students, made this connection.

The Oklahoma artist has employed more contrast on the abdomen in her rendering than the original. I don’t know if this was the intended effect or not (one must be careful when dealing with artists). Of course, the Catholic Church’s current controversies certainly don’t help.

Any synchronicity here with 93rd Libra’s blog on Christ and the Tree of Life and the sephirah of Yesod?

  3. RED Pill Junkie’s BLOODY Good Point!
red pill junkie: “Saturn’s strange hexagon recreated in the lab —so, if it’s been created in a lab, that means it’s artificial, right?”

I was goin’ in the other direction: stirring hot and cold gases in a jam jar with a tablespoon doesn’t prove tornadoes’re caused by giants holding giant tablespoons – but that’s a good point that, mate, a BLOODY good point!

      1. genius……
        …..well thats debatable ;-{P

I seen a great picture on a site the other day with those rainbow edges like what you saw RPJ. I think it was in an album on a site called…hang on, can’t remember and my history was deleted….bugger! I will get back with that.
