It’s the Ozpocalypse.

Thanks Kat.

Quote of the Day:

No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace
As I have seen in one autumnal face.

John Donne

  1. War of the Worlds
Here I was thinking that Mother Nature was joining Google in celebrating H.G. Wells’ birthday:

“Next day, the dawn was a brilliant, fiery red and I wandered through the weird and lurid landscape of another planet; for the vegetation which gives Mars its red appearance had taken root on Earth. As Man had succumbed to the Martians, so our land now succumbed to the Red Weed.”

  2. Hover Dirigible
They don’t understand how to make a cargo version effective for landing? Why not design the craft to operate as a dirigible when loaded and a VSTOL aircraft unloaded? Land, deflate, unload. You could also conceivably break down the craft after landing and load it into the vehicles it carries.

    1. time and such
Probably unloading time is an issue. If you have to deflate first, that takes significant time. Meanwhile the enemy (this was a military project) is shooting at you. Or in civilian terms, the craft is blocking part of the airport. However you do it, you need more ground operations, compared to a craft that just dumps the cargo and flies away. Aircraft sitting on the ground cost money.
