Is your guitar gently weeping?

Thanks Rick and RPJ.

Quote of the Day:

My idea in “My Sweet Lord,” because it sounded like a “pop song,” was to sneak up on them a bit. The point was to have the people not offended by “Hallelujah,” and by the time it gets to “Hare Krishna,” they’re already hooked, and their foot’s tapping, and they’re already singing along “Hallelujah,” to kind of lull them into a sense of false security. And then suddenly it turns into “Hare Krishna,” and they will all be singing that before they know what’s happened, and they will think, “Hey, I thought I wasn’t supposed to like Hare Krishna!”

How ironic, given that in the Fantastic Four movies, she plays the part of the Invisible Woman 🙂

    1. Pop goes the devil
I read an interview with Trent Reznor (of the Nine Inch Nails) about 15 years ago. The interviewer asked if Reznor was going ‘soft’ by introducing pop elements into his music. Reznor replied along the lines of “there is nothing more subversive than pop music”. In other words, once it’s got a hook, you can get all sorts of messages across to listeners.

      Kind regards,

    1. I certainly did
I implied it on yesterday’s News Brief :-b

      From the Press Asociation:
Sir Paul said: “I was asked for my thoughts on the passing of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and I can only say that whilst I am deeply saddened by his passing, my memories of him will only be joyful ones.”

He added: “He was a great man who worked tirelessly for the people of the world and the cause of unity. I will never forget the dedication that he wrote inside a book he once gave me, which read ‘radiate, bliss, consciousness’,[emphasis mine] and that to me says it all. I will miss him but will always think of him with a smile.”

Starr also released a statement paying his respects. He said: “One of the wise men I met in my life was the Maharishi. I always was impressed by his joy and I truly believe he knows where he is going.” [emphasis mine]
PS: Once again thank you all for all the kind words about yesterday’s news.

  1. GLAMayans
But did they wear matching gold spandex pants?
Of course, and Giant Disco balls inside their temples too 🙂

Seriously, since they had the custom to insert these huge maguey needles through their penises to extract blood that would be used as sacrifice to the gods of Xibalbá, it seems to me spandex would have been kind of… uncomfortable, if you catch my drift.

    1. George Harrison
Loved the allusions to, and quote from, George. He was so often overshadowed by John and Paul that we can underestimate just what a genius he was himself.

    G’day
It may be only coincidence, but the amount of spam I am getting has dropped to a trickle. Can we find out who is cutting the undersea Internet cables and get them to cut a few more?

    Regards
    Chris
