    Hello Jameske, thanks for that intriguing Rosetta tale, Hoagland takes the ‘accidental’ encounter with the diamondshaped ‘comet’ a long way and he makes a valid case,even if for most considering his ideas is too uncomfortable..yet hi def camera’s that are temporarily out of order at the momentsupreme and the fact that NASA has been getting strange radar reflections of more socalled comets..implying structure below the surface, gives Hoagland ammunition not to trust the NASA and ESA coverstories. Meanwhile the general public can remain asleep in ignorance.

      I honestly think Hoagland is being too speculative in his hypothesis of the Stein meteor being an artificial object. He sees conspiracies everywhere —”The Stein meteor is too weird, therefore “They” knew it was artificial beforehand!— and stretches too much what are very interesting discoveries about the nature of this object to justify his long-held theory. He even sees windows and portholes where I can only see craters, and proposes the diamond-like topology of the meteor as proof that it was an ancient rescue space-ship, because diamonds are designed to reflect light.

      I do believe there might be alien artifacts somewhere in our solar system, but I don’t think his approach is the right one to make a valid case for this theory. Not when you make a case of pareidolia and Conspiracy theory with Every. Single. Space photograph you get your hands on. The man is on a crusade.

      Hoagland is a clear example that, in the Ufology business, it’s a very healthy thing not to believe too much your own ideas.

        i sympathise generally with your viewpoint. but how could that object survive the impacts to cause such cratering unless there are physical processes that exist of which we are unaware of. The Electric Universe theorists have a chance, or hoagland and his artificial hypothesis, but the dominant view of cratering just cannot make the grade.

        Hoagland is not an idiot, his understanding of science is too good. Personally, i reckon the Electric Universe theorists can account for the object without proposing ancient galactic civilizations but Hoagland’s hypothesis has greater merit than the orthodox viewpoint of that battered object.

          I respectfully disagree. I think Hoagland has his theories first and foremost, and then twists the science whichever way he needs to to fit his theory. I believe he’s either in the business of selling his books, or he’s quite deluded. RPJ makes the excellent point, that it has got to the stage where virtually every new piece of space news has some sensational revelation behind it, according to Hoagland (RPJ: “Not when you make a case of pareidolia and Conspiracy theory with Every. Single. Space photograph you get your hands on.” Bewm)

          The guy is a big vacuum, sucking any respectability from other smarter and more intellectually honest ‘alternative’ theorists.

            Well you are entitled to your opinion but you are attacking the man and not the points he has to make. Every space photograph has anomalies sounds like an awful exaggeration to me – think about it – really.

            the stuff he has on the moon i have always found pretty interesting and difficult to discount. the shard being the most obvious example, but there are others like the photos from the zond missions. and to be fair, hoagland was far from the first to propose these kinds of things in modern times. i have a couple of books from the 70s by Don Wilson that propose our moon is a giant spaceship and they go well into the moons anomalies and come to the result of intelligent action. there may be other solutions to those anomalies, i have a version myself, and those books were a great help to me in coming up with a natural alternative, and I am sure there are plenty of others out there too with ideas like that, but those anomalies are far too often not noticed or shrugged off and it doesnt bother me one bit that hoagland self promotes through all of it, he has to earn a living. he still does a decent enough job, and has encouraged many people to follow through, looking at the data that comes through.

            maybe he is a bit of a dick but that’s his name.

          I’m 100% in agreement that this particular crater and its unusual shape proves we know very little about how asteroids form or what they’re made of. I even think the Bad Astronomer would whole-heartedly agree with that! But that’s why we’re sending these probes: to learn.

          Maybe the Stein asteroid has this diamond shape—or rather, to me it has the more appearance of a spinning top, you know?— because the main crater on the top somehow “squashed” the material and so the upper part is larger and broader then the lower. But that would mean the asteroid is not that solid to begin with. But this is pure wild speculation on my part and I’m comfortable with that.

          My problem with Hoagland is that he almost seems too intelligent for his own good! He knows a lot about Science, but he uses that to confirm again and again his own particular theory, based on rather slim evidence. He adds 2+2 and stubbornly wants to have 8 as a result. He reminds me of the essay Michael Prescott wrote in the first volume of Darklore, about the dangers of spending too much time dealing with the esoteric side of life; if you don’t have balance you end up seeing fairies when there’s only paper cuts.

          I find the Electric Universe theory fascinating, but they too sin from the same thing they attack Standard Model Cosmologists: they want to use their theory to explain EVERYTHING, just the way modern cosmologists want to use Gravity to explain all. My opinion is that we should try to combine the best parts of both approaches, to come up with the next best—but still inevitably inaccurate— theory

          Having said that, I still think that in the hyperbolic argument of Hoagland there might be a 0.1% of truth, and that is worthy enough to study. If I thought otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered in reading the article in the first place.

    Hello, i’m surprised by the negative attitude towards Hoagland here..Yes he’s out on a limb, but this report was assembled within a month. That said, it’s the attitude of NASA and in it’s wake ESA that should be questioned and the fact that masons have been in control there, and use the spaceprojects to elevate their icons (symbolic or personal). As if that aint enough they consider any knowledge gained as theirs aswell..joe public can pay but the brotherhood collects and decides what , if any they share with the public..and that’s the real outrage, not Hoagland.

    As for his report, i admit i thought his expose of the egyptian/masonic connection not really that relevant for the case at hand.. What was the case at hand…ESA making strange moves and delays before the launch of Rosetta, obviously purposefully to make the detour towards Stein possible..even if all that wasnt part of the official mission..then the hi definition camera supposedly was out of order at the moment supreme(after 11 years)…the pics that were shared would have gone unnoticed where it not for Hoagland, he with the limited quality pics availble made a serious effort analysing these…the diamondshape is clear the fact that such a shape has collected millions of years of dust and smallrocks makes it’s close up inevitably rough looking. The second big notice of a mile wide gap in a 3 mile object makes it even less business as usual in cometscience. Its impossible ! the other fact that radar imaging has returned a surprise suggesting structure beneath the surface..So much for facts to work with, Hoagland follows the ideas of another renownded cosmologist Tom van Flandern who believes that the Asteroid belt is whats left from a planet that exploded and suggests that this is what caused the demise of the dinosaurs as remnants rained down on earth Flanderns Hypothesis ..so where does Hoagland in the widely speculative mode …he sees Stein as a lifeboat for evacution purposes, he recognises the diamonshape as a easily descernable marker in space..as assumedly surrounded by debri. and likely without serious propulsion.

    So why is it that a man as Hoagland is ridiculed, whilst it s obvious NASA/ESA in an almost clandistine way twisted over backwards as it where to link up to that piece of socalled rock.. I find Hoagland’s thinking not that outlandish and i would like to remind here that our history has been build on peer consensus not facts.

    RPJ, as for the electric universe theorists, they are being forced to explain everything as the cosmologists keep twisting and laying on some more darkmatter/energy to keep their illusion as peer consensus, another outrage and sad waste…

      But how do we know this ‘secret brotherhood’ who—accordingly to Hoagland— controls no only NASA, but ESA aswell, even exists?

      The idea that the hi-def camera was inoperative is weird, but not that strange considering the Stein asteroid was a secondary objective in the Rosetta mission. When dealing with a tight budget and a delicate piece of equipment, caution is the name of the game, and perhaps the Scientists decided not to compromise the camera in case something went wrong with the Stein approach.

      Maybe I’m being too hard on Hoagland. I admit I’ve grown disappointed on him, because back in the mid 90s I used to read articles on OMNI magazine about his theories and I believed every single thing he said. Towers on the Moon and forts on Mars, what could be more exciting than that?

      But then I’ve watched over the years how he has become his worst enemy, as he writes on his Enterprise blog the findings of preposterous objects on the pictures taken by the Rovers on Mars. I think once he reported detecting a WWII-type tank? The amount of data he obtains from these low-res blurry pics is staggering; so you begin to question whether the intelligence that put those artifacts on Mars is actually from Earth—e.g. his own.

      I’m finishing reading a brilliant book called ‘Project Beta’, by Greg Bishop, about the story of Paul Bennewitz, and how the NSA and the Air Force began injecting him with lies and disinfo at the beginning, a minimal push so that by the end of the whole thing Bennewitz was seeing alien bases and plasma guns near the Archuleta mesa all by himself. And Bennewitz was no fool either, he was an Electronics gnius and with knowledge of physics. I think there are correlations between these two men.

      PS: Only at TDG, can a person like *ME*, end up as the ‘skeptic’ one!! My father would not believe it if I told him 🙂

        Hello RPJ, where did i say secret brotherhood ? It aint no secret, most if not all astronauts are masons, executives at NASA are and ESA has become a reflection of the NASA set up, though possibly less controlled in data output. I thought i made it clear that the Rosetta mission was aimed at Stein and the official target, Comet 67P/Churyumov- Gerasimenko, a blatant diversion…for even the naming of the spacecraft, Rosetta implies the connection to Stein=stone or Rosetta>stone, the famous stone slab that enabled the translation of the hieroglyphics.

        Fact is that NASA has been lying to the public for decades, it has gotten to the point that their modus operandi has become to deceit, but hey the public gets to awe at those nice pics Hubble makes. Why is it we lack hi def pics from the moon, this shouldn’t be a problem technically. But like Mars..the contested area’s are left out of sight. A month ago NASA published a shaded moon pic, it got quickly retracted as the shaded part held a light spec that upon enhancement showed structure (not as in pixels). There’s some great video on line that has imagery of the moon that would make headlines if the media put it out , obviously they aren’t alowed to do this, because joe public would panic if they were told the moon is a base for aliens…which why there hasn’t been any activity going there these last 35 years.

        nobody is saying you are wrong. i for one certainly dont know, but then again, it is not a bad position to be in – not to be certain is good for the interpretation of data. there are enough people in the world to do all different kinds of work.
