News Briefs 28-06-2007

Mmmm, lots of tasty stories today. Dig in…

Thanks Kat and Baldrick.

Quote of the Day:

Human nature is such that it recoils from facing momentous issues. From the close of the last century onward a number of famous scientists announced to the world that after a personal investigation, extending over a great number of years, they found human survival an established fact of science. The world apparently is not ready to believe that religion need no more be a matter of hope and faith, but that it is a matter of knowledge. It prefers to think that even the most famous scientist may, in some respects, go off his head.

  1. Hatshepsut discovery?
This big news discovery of Hatshepsut, is not a new theory or discovery at all, and I was puzzled by this big news brief. Then to confirm my thoughts last night on one of the Discovery type channles and old programme on Hatshepsut was on with Bob Brier, which confirmed all this had been old news!

The DNA evidence has not even been carried out. So whats the new, news? Have I missed something?!!

  2. DNA Testing?
I thought that the great Z did not need DNA testing to confirm the gender and age of a mummy. He seemed to be very confident several years ago discrediting Joanne Fletcher on her claims that a certain mummy was most probably Nefertiti. The great Z determined by sight alone that the mummy was male and the wrong age.

Maybe his eyesight is failing in his old age! Or maybe the weight of the many lies told is blurring his vision.

Maybe Lehner could be his seeing eye dog in the future. Come on Mark, step out of Z’s shadow! Plenty more fish bones in the desert!
