News Briefs 02-01-2007

All the best for the New Year! I took two weeks worth of news, and via secret alchemical techniques, distilled it into this one news update. Whether it’s lead or gold is left to your opinion…

Quote of the Day:

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Pink Floyd, ‘Time’

  1. Cloaking?
Hmm.. the point about the “blow-up” i.e. the EM fields approaching infinity near the cloaking barrier.

I wonder if that`s what happened to the USS Eldridge?

  2. Taking a stab at the Tool
Taking a stab at the Tool song… I would have to guess Part Of Me. I’m not sure how it predicts glowing pigs specifically, but Tool’s only release circa 15 years ago was the Opiate EP, and that’s the only song in that record which seems to fit. Certainly a “creative” interpretation of the song.

    1. Lateral Thinking
      “TOOL-related”. Specifically, MJK and DC.
      😉

      Kind regards,
      Greg

You monkeys only think you’re running things

      1. Aw shucks
The silence is deafening, and tumbleweeds are rolling past.

Green Jelly – Three Little Pigs
(DC on drums, MJK doing falsetto piggy voice)

        Kind regards,
        Greg

        1. Aha! I have only recently
Aha! I have only recently begun to delve into Tool’s related side-projects and influences, most recently expanding my library and mind with King Crimson.

  3. I wasn’t even close …oh well
    Aenima – Third Eye

Shroud-ing all the ground around me
Is this holy crow above me.
Black as holes within a memory
And blue as our new second sun.
I stick my hand into his shadow
To pull the pieces from the sand.
    Which I attempt to reassemble
To see just who I might have been.
I do not recognize the vessel,
But the eyes seem so familiar.
    Like phosphorescent desert buttons
Singing one familiar song… —————————–Truth is stranger than fiction.
