Devin Townsend - 'Coast'

Today's musical interlude on the Grail: 'Coast', from the album Ki by the Devin Townsend Project, featuring an excellent 'captured alien' video vibe (directed by Konrad Palkiewicz):


Ki is the first of a 4-album 'concept' - the second in the series (Addicted) will be released next week. Townsend is an independent musician, so if you like what you hear send some love his way by purchasing the album through his website.

Devin Townsend is sure stepping into interesting territory lately. Personally I'm not a big fan of his ultra-heavy-metal stuff, but some of his "prog" work is really cool. I've heard good things about these new albums, and hearing that track placed it high up on my list.

For a taste of something more "esoteric" I recommend a pretty neat ambient album he did a little while ago called The Hummer, complete with Leonard Cohen reading from the Tibetan Book of the Dead.
