Catching Ideas with David Lynch

Mitch Horowitz, one of our regular bloggers here at TDG (in his spare time Mitch is also the editor-in-chief of Tarcher/Penguin), recently interviewed writer-director David Lynch about the themes he explores in his new book, Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity (currently charting well and gaining good reviews at Amazon.com, also available from Amazon UK). The cult director of films and TV such as Twin Peaks, Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive and Eraserhead (among others) discussed his thirty-two year commitment to meditation, his feelings about Hollywood, and his working style as an artist. For anyone who has enjoyed Lynch’s films, I’m sure you’ll enjoy Mitch’s interview (though you’d think he could have asked Lynch who or what the hell BOB really was?), with some forthright questions and candid answers from the respected writer/director.
