Another entry into the Dan Brown cottage market, with the release of an unauthorised biography titled The Man Behind The Da Vinci Code, by Lisa Rogak. The official website has more details about the biography, including excerpts from the book. Worth checking the page for alone are the samples of Dan Brown singing, from his musician days (TOOL it ain’t!). You can buy the book from US and UK.

  1. Mystery, is always more attractive.
    The man’s life isn’t anywhere near over, and in fact, in terms of notoriety it’s just beginning. There’s no need for a Biography. This is just like that old VH1 show, ‘Behind The Music’. It doesn’t matter who’s behind the music, and it surely doesn’t matter who’s behind the book. I suppose, though, I can look the other way since it appears it wasn’t from his own doing.

    I read a big article about Brown in a national newspaper recently.

    The story was that he was happy writing the sort of book which he wrote,and his wife suggested to him that he write the story which became Angels and Demons, as she had done research on it.
    At the same time she was researching the background of TDVC which was a common interest for the two of them.
    He wrote the book, the rest is history.
    But she did the research.
    In fact, the whole idea was her’s.
    Geez us women are good.

      I wonder if Dan Brown’s wife (does she have a name?) was aware of the fact that the Priory of Sion documents on which HBHG is based have been proven as hoaxes. So much for her research. I guess this will all come out in the court case.

          The Dossiers and all other documents emanating from the Priory of Sion are admitted hoaxes by those involved. The proof of the forgeries is given in some French books. Baigent, Leigh and Lincoln, authors of Holy Blood, Holy Grail are still not admitting it. If they would accept that HBHG was largely disproven, they wouldn’t be challenging Dan Brown in court. What I can’t figure is whether they are intellectually dishonest or just plain stupid. I suspect it is intellectual dishonesty. Anyway I hope the judge slaps them silly next year.
