Indiana Jones Heads to Roswell

Meant to mention this ‘find’ from the Indiana Jones movie trailer last week, but never got around to it (sorry Filip) – now that Emps has posted about it at Cabinet of Wonders, I’ll just do the lazy thing and link to it. Indiana Jones, not content with those crystal skulls, also makes a detour to Roswell. Emps also points us at this io9 story which features a comic book cover in which the crystal skull is rather alienesque. This movie could only be more Daily Grail if they featured me in a full frontal shot (check the trailer really closely, I dare you…).

So nice that they are showing the very same warehouse where the Ark of the Covenant was hidden by the Army in the first movie 🙂

It’s not the depth of the rabbit hole that bugs me…
It’s all the rabbit SH*T you stumble over on your way down!!!

  2. Full frontal
Have you told Red Pill about the photoshoot, Greg? 😉

In the Vanity Fair feature on Indy IV, Spielberg mentions that scifi was the pulp theme of the 1950s and it’s a natural progression for the Indiana Jones story, which was based on pulp serials of the 1930s. I totally agree with Spielberg, and as long as there are no flying saucers, and Indy stumbles upon ancient alien relics, I love the idea.

I remember seeing the 1970 documentary of Erich Von Daniken’s Chariots Of The Gods on tv the same time I saw Raiders Of The Lost Ark, way back in 1981. And then Spielberg’s ET came out the next year, and I was changed forever. It was about this time I first saw Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (originally released in 1977). I credit Spielberg for my interests in archaeology and extraterrestrials — without Indiana Jones and ET, I wouldn’t be writing for the Daily Grail today, I’m sure of it.

    1. Steven messed my life too 🙂
Major inffluence in my life aswell. I suppose my father saw it coming when he showed so much reluctance at taking me to see these movies 🙂

  3. Full frontal?
You’ve been drinking petrol again haven’t you?

Obviously if I had the skills I’d mock up a bad fake – lucky for everyone I don’t.

I think we’ll just chalk this one up to “Greg called it right” and move on. Next!!
