Quote of the Day:

“There are seven sins in the world: wealth without work, pleasure without conscience, knowledge without character, commerce without morality, science without humanity, worship without sacrifice and politics without principle.”

I love it. Organized religion just gives man a reason to slap a label on God and himself, and then bash everybody wearing a different label. Once upon a time, I watched a bunch of Southern Baptist teenagers beat up some kids in a movie who laughed at a scene in “Ben Hur”. That’ll teach ’em what Christianity is all about, eh? Sigh.

“Three men went into the jungle on different occasions and saw a chameleon. “A chameleon is red,” said the first man. “No a chameleon is green,” said the second man. “Nonsense, a chameleon is brown,” said the third man. Those who disagree about the nature of God are like these three men.”

  2. Barbie-Q
Not a good idea to mention “Wiccan” and “barbie” in the same breath. One set of “burning times” was enough, thank you. Next thing you know, we’ll have “Alice Springs Wiccan”.

All things considered, maybe I’ll get one for my altar; is there a Ken model too? Got to have God and Goddess, after all. Any handfasting accessories? Does Ken come with his own wand? Lots of aftermarket opportunity here, consider the possibilities. Maybe a Stonehenge playset (Druids not included).

“An ye harm none, do what ye will.” Wiccan Rede

    1. Wiccan Barbie
That is just SO last year… 😉

We’re buying the Legends of Ireland series Barbies this year. I’ve heard the Bard version has sold out, and the Faerie Queen is the current one that’s available.

The money I put into a mutual fund a couple of years ago plummetted quite substantially. The Lord of the Rings set(Barbie and Ken as Arwen and Aragorn) is now selling for twice what I paid for it since I got it in January. I’m beginning to think I need to rethink my (so far pathetic)retirement strategies. Maybe the bumpersticker that says “The winner is the person with the most toys at the end” is not just ironic, but true?

      1. Legends
I’m holding out for a Morrigan and Dagda set; should be along sooner or later in the Erin series. Right with you on the investment thing, my MF came a cropper too, but my Galadriel and Celeborn are gold!

If toys are the benchmark, I’m near the top of the list. 😉

“Call unto Me in the forest wild and on hilltop bare and seek Me in the Darkness Bright. I who have been called: Pan, Herne, Cernunnos; speak to thee in thy search. Come dance and sing; come live and smile, for behold: this is My worship.” from Charge of the God

Actually, I think that’s “eunuchs”. Poor Ken – to never know the miscellaneous joys centered around having your own wand.

Ken-nunnos sounds right, and what better place for the antlered (read horny? – darn, where’s that wand of mine?) forest deity than as a consort to the beautiful Wiccan Barbie?

        “Foul Superstition! howsoe’er disguised,
Idol, saint, virgin, prophet, crescent, cross,
For whatsoever symbol thou art prized,
Thou sacerdotal gain, but general loss!
Who from true worship’s gold can separate thy dross?”

I love all the above comments, you clever people. The best laugh I’ve had in a while.
          Love the quotes too.
This is the place for the most intelligent comment I’ve seen.

        2. I’d say that that spell-casti
I’d say that that spell-casting Barbie is only ready for a consort with training wheels. Maybe a young Goth poseur trying to grow his first little beard?

Is Ken even in the picture anymore? Or has he been supplanted by Blaine, and has gone off to live in his parents’ basement? “Slacker Loser Ken”?

The only guy doll that was ever hot was the boyfriend of that rocker Jem years ago.

The funny thing is that when my daughter was born, we actually managed to have a Barbie-free house for a full 6 years.
